'Dancing With the Stars': Kirstie Alley's weight loss demands costume alterations
Do you remember Kirstie Alley's Cha Cha Cha way back in week 1 of "Dancing With the Stars?"
Of course you do. It was one of her best performances throughout all of Season 12 and made her an early contender for a spot in the finale. So naturally, she and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy chose it as their encore dance for the May 24 finale.
You'll likely notice one big difference, though. She'll be wearing that same dress, only taken in quite a bit.
"I don't know," she told Zap2it backstage after the penultimate episode of the season. "There's got to be like 30-some inches taken out of it... It's like all the way up and here and here and boobs!"
As you might guess, Kirstie spent her explanation gesturing to the many parts of her body that have shrunk during her 13 weeks dancing with Maks. She's still not dropping a number or an exact dress size, but you can expect that bombshell to come shortly after the finale in the form of one magazine cover or another.
Not that the actress is preoccupied with that sort of thing right now. When we caught up with her, she had a very zen attitude about the finale and her time on the show. "There's nothing to be nervous about now," she says. "We did the best that we could do and now it's up to whoever."
"I walked in old and fat," says Alley, "and now I'm old and hot."
"No," says Maks. "Now she's young and hot."
