'Dancing With the Stars': Chelsea Kane's biggest takeaway? Rock hard abs.
Kirstie Alley's weight loss has, quite obviously, dominated much of the "Dancing With the Stars" discussion this season -- but she's not the only one benefiting from the show's rigorous workout. Zap2it was backstage during night 1 of the Season 12 finale, and Chelsea Kane says she's noticed a dramatic change in her body.
"Rock hard abs!" partner Mark Ballas blurted out when asked what Chelsea has gotten out of her time on the show.
"Abs and Muscles," says Chelsea, laughing. "I had no muscle tone whatsoever. If you talked to us at our first rehearsals... I was like, I can't lift myself I can't lift anything! The fact that we're on the floor doing hip hop and I'm pushing myself off the ground? There's been some serious core training."
Pushing, indeed. Chelsea spent half of her freestyle leaping off the ground and being thrown in the air by Mark --- something she never became completely comfortable with but now knows she has the strength to do.
"It's just been a great way for me to realize that there are so many forms of getting healthy and strong that don't involve sitting in the gym for five hours," she says of dancing. "I'll keep it up for sure."
