'Community's' Gillian Jacobs: 'I can't even imagine' where Season 3 will go

"Community" has done riffs on westerns, "Star Wars," movies about real-life space exploration, zombies and "My Dinner With Andre" in the past season. So how does the show top that next year.

"I don't know," Gillian Jacobs tells Zap2it in the video above. "I feel like everything on this show is so unexpected to us as a cast in addition to the audience. So I can't even imagine what they're going to do."

We caught up with Jacobs at NBC's upfront, and things got a little uncomfortable for a moment. She took issue with us noting that her character, Britta, can occasionally be a little strident.

"You think Britta's strident? I think Britta's opinionated, and I think she's perfect just the way she is," she says. "How dare you, sir! No -- I think you need to have a lot of different voices in the room, and if everybody was the same it would be a pretty boring show.

"You know, you need to have someone be the butt of the jokes, and I'm happy to do that."

We think we patched things up by the end of the interview, but if not, we apologize for calling Britta strident. Even if she is sometimes. "Community" will be back in its Thursday home on NBC in the fall.
