CBS renews 'CSI: NY,' cancels 'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior'
Just a day before their Upfront press conference in NYC, CBS announced "CSI: NY" has been renewed for an eighth season, Deadline reports. The size of the order for Season 8 has not yet been decided, but there's been speculation that it will not be a full-season -- 22 episodes.Unfortunately, freshman series "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" didn't survive the bubble battle and is being canceled. It reportedly came down the the wire between the two crime dramas. The "Criminal Minds" spin-off never achieved the success of the "CSI" and "NCIS" franchises' spin-offs, failing to find an audience during its short midseason run.
CBS also recently canceled freshman series "The Defenders," "$#*! My Dad Says" and "Mad Love" and added two new shows to its line-up: "Person of Interest" (starring "Lost's" Michael Emerson) and the comedy "Two Broke Girls."

While i'm glad CSI:NY will come back, I really enjoy Criminal minds:SB!!
I'm happy they renewed CSI New York, as it's my favorite of the franchise. The season finale could have been the series finale, but I'm glad it wasn't.
I have watched all the episodes of Criminal Minds: SB and have been extremely disappointed. I was eagar to see Forest Whitaker in a leading role, but the whole show was plain boring. If you are going to create a spin-off, you have to have a new twist from the original show and the creators didn't. It was basically CM for 2 hours staight. This is TV 101 and the creators/producers failed even in this aspect.
Criminal Minds SB was boring! It didn't hold up to the original series, not even close. Hey CBS, how about picking up The Chicago Code from Fox?
As everyone, I have an opinion...Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior was a new twist and was enjoyed by everyone I have had the chance to speak with. So sorry to see it go. Maybe they could bring the characters back to the original series as guest.
Forest Whitaker spoke so fast i couldn't understand a word he said; one of the characters had a thick accent which also was hard to understand (and I myself am an immigrant); the characters could have used some fleshing out. As much as I love CM, CM-SB was a huge disappointment.
Original CM is probably my favorite TV drama. And I love Forest Whitaker. Really liked the CM episode which launched the spin-off. I enjoyed the cast of that particular episode. But I refused to watch the new series simply because Garafaelo was on it. She is so rude and offensive to those who don't have the same beliefs that I could not force myself to watch the show. Know others who didn't watch for the same reason.
honestly, im happy. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior didnt even compare to the original Criminal Minds. No one could replace it, no one will
i have lost interest in csi ny...i prefered criminal minds: cb
i thought it was an awesome show.
dont know what cbs was thinking cancelling the show. i wont be watching cse ny
