'Brothers & Sisters' Gilles Marini says goodbye: 'I will miss my friends'

When the rumors of a "Brothers & Sisters" cancelation was reaching an intense level, star Gilles Marini, who played Luc, spoke with Zap2it about his hopes for the show's renewal. That served as a rallying cry as fans waited for the official word to come down from ABC.
Reportedly, some last minute negotiations to bring back the show began, which we're told our article did influence at least in some small part. But, fans got their answer when ABC officially announced on Friday (May 13) that the show would not be returning for a sixth season.
Marini tells us he had just landed in New York City when his wife called and broke the news to him. And now he's closing the circle with Zap2it readers.
"Even if we understand that the show took [its] natural course and that already ABC gave it a great run," Marini tells Zap2it. "It's always hard to realize that you are not going to be surrounded with such an incredible cast and crew everyday. That is sad."
"But I know that there is a lot going on for my career and my fellow [actors] on 'Brothers & Sisters' and very soon they and I will be able to talk more about it," he continues.
"I was blessed to be part of this stunning group of people for two years and that nobody can take back. I am super positive about the future and [want to] thank one more time ABC for allowing the show to shine for such a long time. I will miss my friends on set dearly!"
We've already expressed how much we'll miss the show. How much will you miss spending Sunday nights with "Brothers & Sisters"?

I will miss Brothers and Sisters terribly. So few shows on TV about family with no murder or violence involved. It's a Sunday night ritual for me. Too bad but look forward to seeing all the talented member's of this cast in other projects. I will follow them all.
We will miss you all too immensly! Even if we knew it was a possiblity, the news of the cancellation was a real blow! Wishing you, Gilles and the rest of the cast lots of exciting future projects. Not seeing you all as one big family clan will take a long while to get used to. Missing the Walkers so much already! I wish ABC would have given us more time to get used to the idea, that Brothers & Sisters wasn't going to be renewed! There was lots of potential for great storylines in Season 6. Saddening to know that we won't be part of the hilarious phone/mobile Walker convos, the dinner table fights and conversations, nor sharing their laughs, tears, drama and love with them. Wishing you all well!
I have interviewed both Gilles Marini and Beau Bridges on my radio show, as warm and kind in reality as they conveyed via their characters of "Luc" and "Brady."
This show was the example all family shows should aspire to presenting. "Parenthood" tries, but it doesn't bring all of the aspects of an extended, blended, crazy, loving family together as successfully as the epitome of great writing, producing, and acting of such a stellar cast that "Brothers and Sisters" has continued to be.
This is a sad, sad statement of what we have become, via what we prefer to see on television, and I rather feel like I am witnessing the slow cancerous death of network television altogether.
"Brothers and Sisters" was one of our few last chances to show that humanity still exists among the viewing public.
I feel as though I have lost my own family, and it is truly a monumental loss for us all, whether all of us even realize it or not yet.
Will have a void in my Sunday nights without Brothers & Sisters. Especially enjoyed the show since Gilles Marini as Luc Laurent joined the cast. Here's wishing the entire cast & crew nothing but the best in the future.
I will miss "Brothers & Sisters" ABC could have cancelled "Desperate Housewives" as far as I'm concerned; it's gotten too desperate to suit me lately!! Thanks for a good run "Brothers & Sisters!" Walker's you will be missed!!!
maybe a tv movie/mini-series to wrap all loose ends can be made...maybe they can do a special epi on the series set disc...
Really bummed about B&S being cancelled. I don't know what they plan to relpace it with. There really is no other show like this on TV. All good things must come to an end in order to make room for greater things. Well wishes for the cast and crew and Gilles fans will be rooting for him wherever he goes next. Thanks for good TV!
Wanted to add that I loved all of the Walkers and extended family members, but I will sure miss seeing Saul and Jonathan as a couple. We had to wait too long for Saul to be happy and now that he did, they pull the plug on the show! I mean, please, Saul didn't even have the time to tell his sister, that Jonathan proposed! Very sad. Loved Saul's relationship with his nephew Kevin and Scotty. Going to miss those guys and everyone! Inconsolable..
Well at least it ended on a happy note
so if they did bring it back we would had seen Nora and "Brady" get married, and form and older version of the "Brady Bunch" i guess they would have to get a bigger table
Kitty with a warning from Mom would have a baby , she would get married and her husband would come home from work seeing the kid in a Halloween outfit and kitty on the floor dieing, - oh did not Nora already go thru that - Scotty and Kevin will have more kids and Kevin would open up Daddy Gay Care
Uncle and Dr Kildare will get married - maybe a double Siblings wedding .
Well will miss all the Drama and i thought my family gatherings are loud= best to all
Will miss the show.
