'BFF': NBC pairs Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham, hopes for laughs

NBC has given the green light to "BFF" for the 2011-2012 primetime lineup. Though the show hasn't yet been given a slot, we expect it to hit the schedule sometime in early 2012.

The sitcom pairs Jessica St. Clair (as Jessica) and Lennon Parham (as Lennon) as both co-creators and co-stars. Yep, it's one of those shows where the characters have the same name as their real-life counterparts. Which we're sure helps for running lines, but unless you're Larry David we're wary of the gimmick.

St. Clair most recent appeared in the just-opened chick comedy flick "Bridesmaids." She's guested on Showtime's "Weeds," but got her start as a correspondent for shows like "The Smoking Gun TV" and "The Colin Quinn Show." Parham is a "Funny or Die?" regular who has also made the guest rounds ("Parks and Recreation," "How I Met Your Mother").

Another interesting factoid: Former kid actor Fred Savage ("The Wonder Years") directed the pilot. Neat.

Meh... not sure if they need to recast the guy that's on the renewed "Happy Endings", but not excited about this one

I've loved these gals on stage at the UCB in LA and NYC for years. Truly exciting to see some hardcore improv comedy womyn get their big network break.
