'American Idol's' Scotty McCreery: 'Tim McGraw is my Country Dad'
"American Idol's" Season 10 grand finale on Wednesday, May 25, played host to a slew of great performances, which included Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Steven Tyler(!!) and many, many more.
Some of the Season 10 contestants (And none for Thia Megia. Bye! We jest!) got the chance to sing alongside their idols, including winner Scotty McCreery, who performed "Live Like You Were Dying" with one of his heroes, country superstar Tim McGraw.
After the show, Scotty talked about performing with his idol, who he calls his "Country Dad." All together now: Aw!
"Tim McGraw, he was like my Country Dad for rehearsals and stuff, he really was. All the advice he was giving me, it was crazy," Scotty said. "Picking his brain and getting the wisdom that he has, it was a a really special moment for me."
Scotty continued, "He's a really genuine, nice guy."
Zap2it was on the scene at the "Idol" finale and thought Tim and Scotty's duet was actually the performance of the night. Scotty really elevated his game and knocked the song out of the park. This is the kind of single he should be releasing. (So, so much better than "I Love You This Big," no?)
Hey, we're just saying we wouldn't be mad if a Scotty McCreery cover of "Live Like You Were Dying" hit iTunes anytime soon. We also wouldn't be mad if Scotty opened for Tim on his next tour. Match. Made. In. Country. Heaven.
What did you think of Scotty and Tim's duet, Zappers? What was your favorite performance of the night?

Congrats Scotty, awesome duet with Country's Superstar Tim McGraw- just love it.
Great Tim and Scotty duet. However, not crazy of the idea of Scotty's cover of LLYWD. That is Tim's trademark song and should be his alone. Was pseudo-tribute to his dad.
dang gooood fiddlin boys, and hats off to tim and scotty!!!
The fact that a 17 year old kid was able to hold his own with a great like Tim McGraw really says something for how he'll do in his career. It also says something that Time McGraw and George Strait clearly approve of Scotty. I think he will go very far in Country.
They were awesome as were Lauren & Carrie and James & Judas priest. They should all go far.......
i dont think anyone will go wrong with sighning scott up with a contract..he has a grate vioce
I thought Tim and Scotty were the best of the night. I am so happy Scotty won he sings so darn good. the others were good to but my favorite was Scotty. How he sang with Tim wow and how he sang George Strait was great too. Hope he makes it majorlly big!!!!
