'American Idol's' Scotty McCreery: 'Gone' shows off his wild side

GoogleFor "American Idol's" Top 5, the theme was "Now and Then." For Scotty McCreery's contemporary number, he chose a boot-stompin' tune called "Gone" by Montgomery Gentry. What did you think?
It may not have been as technically good as some of his other ones, but Scotty was finally working the stage as a showman. It was a little awkward, a little dorky at parts, but that's really just part of his charm.
The judges were delighted, J.Lo could not stop laughing (in a good way) and Randy said it was like they were at Scotty's concert. Tyler said Scotty's usually such a Puritan, but tonight he saw him "dance with the Devil." What did you think?

He's adorable. What a performer! He knows how to charm the audience. I like his slow, deep voice numbers but this was a blast.
Scotty is the best. He deserves to win it all. I just may be one of his oldest (unrelated) fans!
Scotty is just simply the best. He is a real showman. He loves perfoming to the audience and he is having the time of his life,doing what he loves to do. I loved the soft slow oldies song. Shows he can deliver a balad and be sincere and tender. The now song shows what a real entertainer he is. He worked the floor, the stage, and the audience. If Scotty doesn't win AI, he need not fear, he is a winner and I guarentee there will be dozens of producers out there ready to grab him up. He is headed for the BIG-TIME! I can't wait to get his first CD. I don't go to too many concerts, but I will definately make it a priority to go to many of his. I JUST LOVE THIS KID! Scotty is awesome!

I would pay dearly to see Scotty in his own concert now. Can't wait until his album comes out.
He is as good or better than any of the professional country stars now. Would love for him to do an Alan Jackson song.
I honestly think he would be more of an Idol than James. There are a lot of Country fans, look at Carrie Underwood. She isn't hurting for fans.
Scotty is a young man that would make any parent proud. His voice is beautiful, it's like I wish American Idol was on every day of the week so I could hear Scotty sing. He puts his heart and soul into every song he sings! HE IS THE NEXT American Idol! He can sing any song and make it sound better than the original. Scotty is going to TAKE THIS!!!!
Scotty unleashes "inner hottie" and we're all "Gone" Awesome, love this kid. Was so proud of our boy Wed. nite. Know he's gonna bring the house down someday in big big way..hopefully b/f AI is over, but happen it will. God intends this boy to speak to America and possibly beyond.
