USA adds 'Suits,' 'Necessary Roughness' to packed summer schedule
USA will air more original programming week to week this summer than most of the broadcast networks. Two new scripted shows, "Suits" and "Necessary Roughness," will premiere in June, joining returning series "Burn Notice," "White Collar," "Royal Pains" and "Covert Affairs." "In Plain Sight" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," which debut May 1, will also run into the summer, while "WWE Monday Night Raw" will continue its year-round schedule.
By the end of June, USA will have original shows airing Sunday through Thursday, with 10 hours of prime-time programming per week. It's unlikely that any of the broadcast networks will have that much new programming on the air in their summer seasons.
"Suits" (formerly "A Legal Mind") will premiere on Thursday, June 23, following the season premiere of "Burn Notice." The show stars Gabriel Macht ("Love and Other Drugs") as corporate lawyer Harvey Specter, who hires a bright new associate, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). The only problem is that Mike isn't actually a lawyer; he's a college dropout. Harvey and Mike have to keep up the lie in order to keep their jobs.
"Necessary Roughness" (not to be confused with the 1991 Scott Bakula-Sinbad-Kathy Ireland comedy) will be paired with "Royal Pains" on Wednesday nights starring June 29. It stars "Rescue Me's" Callie Thorne as the therapist to a pro football team. Scott Cohen ("Gilmore Girls"), Mehcad Brooks ("True Blood") and Marc Blucas ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") are also in the cast.
USA's summer schedule is as follows:
Sundays (starting May 1)
9 p.m. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent"
10 p.m. "In Plain Sight"
Mondays (continuing)
8 p.m. "WWE Tough Enough"
9 p.m. "WWE Monday Night Raw"
Tuesdays (starting June 7)
9 p.m. "White Collar"
10 p.m. "Covert Affairs"
Wednesdays (starting June 29)
9 p.m. "Royal Pains"
10 p.m. "Necessary Roughness"
Thursdays (starting June 23)
9 p.m. "Burn Notice"
10 p.m. "Suits"

Language was a real turnoff and that’s exactly what we did, about 10 minutes into the show .. Hire new writers! .. We don’t need to hear God’s name used in vain along with other foul language .. USA you blew this one by lowering your standard to those who have NO standards
