'Two and a Half Men': Charlie Sheen vs. Chuck Lorre, round 83
On Thursday there was news that "Two and a Half Men" was working on a way to continue next season without Charlie Sheen. Which meant that it was only a matter of time before Sheen started ripping "Men" creator Chuck Lorre again.Sheen obliged Thursday night (April 28) with a scathing letter sent to TMZ in which he calls Lorre, among other things, a "sad silly fool," an "A-hole p***y loser" and a "spineless rat."
"The ratings right now are not a fluke," Sheen writes. "It's a big fat mess. A 2.0 demo? That sucks. Almost as bad as you. You've been warned. Reap the whirl-wind you cockroach, reap it."
There's more of that -- really, it's mostly a restatement of stuff Sheen has said a bunch of times before about his former boss. It's also pretty much exactly not the way to get your job back, as Sheen has occasionally said he wants to do.
Lorre, for his part, took what reads like an oblique swipe at Sheen via his latest vanity card. At the end of Thursday's "Big Bang Theory," which featured a smoking monkey in one scene, Lorre offered up the following:
"Thanks to the magic of computer graphics, the monkey in tonight's episode was not actually smoking a cigarette, nor was he ever exposed to secondhand smoke. At all times, every effort was made to make the monkey feel happy and safe. Nevertheless, he proved impossible to work with. During the week of production his behavior became increasingly erratic, to the point of refusing to come out of his trailer to rehearse. It wasn't until after we finished filming his scenes that we learned why. The monkey is a heroin addict. Yes, hard as it may be to believe, the monkey had a monkey on his back. Thankfully, an intervention was staged by the Geico lizard and he is now going through detox and a twelve step program at the Bonzo Center in Palm Springs. Everyone at 'The Big Bang Theory' wishes him well."
CBS will unveil its 2011-12 schedule in 19 days, and presumably at that time will explain what's happening with "Two and a Half Men." Which will probably do very little to end the back-and-forth sniping.

Charlie is still WINNING! Hey Chucky boy, how have your shows been doing since you fired Charlie??? The Big Bang Theory is down 3-4 million viewers...lol. Mike and Molly is down over 5 million viewers...Ha Ha. Oh, and lets not forget that your actions have even spread to How I Met Your Mother... down over 6 million viewers. Keep up the good work Chuck, can't wait to see what No and a Half Douches pulls in after it's first episode, people tend to want to watch a train wreck, so people will tune in at first, then turn away in droves..."Flerg".
Charlie will always be the LOSER in this, by simple virtue of who he is... an ego maniacal, self important, pompos a$$. He is getting exactly what he deserves! Two and a half men may fail, but its still better then feeding into this guys self destructive nature.
As for the other shows that Justin mentions. That has nothing to do with Sheen. TV viewing overall is down each week. Its called daylight savings and people aren't staying in to watch TV as much, especially in the 8:00 to 9:00 pm hour! Sounds like this guy is in love with Sheen! (but he only wants Goddesses)
Once you're old enough to drive, Justin, you'll learn that when an employee acts irresponsibly enough over a long period of time he's gonna get canned no matter what else he is doing for the company. Seems like that may be a lesson you'll learn personally...
Ha! Love your post, Tim L. It's Sheen's viewership that keeps dropping, as they have to beg people to come to his Torpedo of Truth tour or whatever it's called. I am amazed at how he continues to torpedo his career. Why would any legitimate network take him on now in any capacity? I haven't watched Two and a Half Men in the last couple of years due to Sheen's off-screen behavior, but if they re-tool the show to exclude him, I'll watch it.
Go chuck Lorre!
Ratings are down for the above-mentioned shows because they've been re-runs for the past few weeks (when they've been on at all). Looking forward to new episodes now that we're entering May sweeps.
What new episodes? They stopped production on this show a few months ago. Lorre needs to stop issuing those stupid vanity cards on his programs and this doesn't look like it will be over between these two guys anytime soon.
If they had written new episodes without Sheen right after all this nonsense started the ratings would have held. The fact that they have been running repeats is the reason viewers have dropped off. Repeats on all the networks this season have been losing viewers. If people are boycotting the show because of Lorre's vanity cards or because of the Sheen nonsense why is Two and a Half Men at the top of the syndicated ratings? Big Bang ratings have more to do with airing opposite Idol than anything going on with Lorre. People are recording Big Bang and watching it later.
Chuck, Charlie guys please kiss and make up, you know deep down you still love each others..you are so much alike, egos talk first..
Charlie's right...Lorre really *is* all of those things these days. CBS should fire Lorre and bring back Sheen.
2.5 Men will fail badly without Sheen. Nothing against Cryer, but he can't carry the show.
