'The Voice' makes 'American Idol' castoff Frenchie Davis work
It's always nice to see old friends. Right, Cee Lo Green? "American Idol" castoff Frenchie Davis gave it another shot at her big break on the premiere of NBC's "The Voice," but the coaches made her work for it.
Frenchie sang Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl," which isn't the kind of song we'd pick for her big voice. While all the coaches clearly thought she had skills, they took their sweet time before anyone turned around. Thankfully for Frenchie, Christina Aguilera likes a powerful voice and finally swung her chair around and the contestant's elation was clear. After all, all you need is one of them.
Like Cee Lo, viewers may remember Frenchie as a semi-finalist from Season 2 of "American Idol" before she was disqualified when topless pictures of her surfaced from when she was 19-years-old. Since then, she starred in the Broadway musical, "Rent," in 2003.
Now at 31, could Frenchie get a second chance at success? Did she impress you?
