'Shedding for the Wedding': Sara Rue on the finale, 'I cried, it was beautiful'

"Shedding for the Wedding" is down to two couples on Wednesday's (April 13) finale airing at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. 

Which of the eliminated couples will win the ultimate honeymoon? And will the dream wedding go to Dawn and Adam or Sam and Brooks?

When we spoke to host Sara Rue on-set while she was shooting her guest-starring role on CBS' "Rules of Engagement," she told us that the fans will be touched and, if how she felt was any indication, really pleased with the season finale.

"When we shot the finale," Rue tells Zap2it. "I hadn't seen [the couples] in three months and seeing their transformation from the first day I met them to [when] we shot the wedding. We shot the winning couple's wedding, and I cried, and it was beautiful and they were so happy, and it was so wonderful to be a part of. So, yeah, I'm completely happy with the outcome."

When the show was first announced, the producers clearly wanted to set the bar high for not only quality, but in respecting the sensitive issues the show portrays. And Rue says she thinks they reached it.

"I'm very proud of the show," she says. "I feel like it's very easy with the subject matter like losing weight and planning your wedding for it to be, you know, dorky and also insulting. And I don't feel like the show is that at all. It has a lot of heart."
