NBC says goodbye to 'The Paul Reiser Show': Canceled after second episode?

That's gotta hurt. It's clear you weren't mad about former "Mad About You" star Paul Reiser's return to TV as a more fictionalized version of himself in NBC's "The Paul Reiser Show." And it's also clear NBC can take a hint.

According to TheFutonCritic.com's sources, the show has been pulled from NBC's Thursday night schedule and will be replaced by repeat episodes of "The Office."

At the time this article posted, there was no official announcement from the network nor any news of whether the remaining episodes will ever air.

At 2.37 million viewers for Thursday's (April 22) episode, the show lost about a million viewers from the April 14 premiere's 3.37 million viewers.

Do you think NBC should have given it more time to find its audience?

surprise surprise.

Yes, I think they should have given it a chance. Move it out of that death time slot on the second 1/2 hour of Idol. If it had been on the first half, more people would have watched it, knowing the drama of Idol wasn't til the end anyway. Some other network.....pick this up...Reiser is too good to stay off tv.

LOVE "Outsourced" but it's a shame it's on NBC because people simply don't trust that Network to keep any shows, good or otherwise, so it's difficult for fans to make a commitment to any of their shows. I was a fan of Highly Praised show "Southland" and they dropped that. Thankfully TNT picked it up, but it just goes to show NBC doesn't have a clue.

I couldn't even watch 10 minutes. I wish NBC would hire me...I could have told it would be a bomb and saved them a ton of money.

This show was dreadful. The painfully arch and unfunny asides to the camera made me want to punch my tv. Reiser is no Larry David. Uninteresting characters, bland storylines, and Reiser's constant pleading with the audience to love his "wacky" antics drove this show straight into the tv graveyard.

Like Reiser. Wasn't impressed with the pilot. Haven't watched the second episode yet. Looks like I won't bother...

sheesh ! They aren't even giving it a chance. I really have to just stop watch NBC altogether - they never leave on what I like
