Katherine Heigl returns to TV, sorry, HBO; 'Real Housewives' Dina Manzo gets own reality show

Friday's (April 8) serving of TV Snacks includes a lot of returns to TV and a few of them definitely out of the box.
Katherine Heigl is returning to TV for the first time since leaving "Grey's Anatomy" to produce and star in an HBO movie based on the bestselling novel, "The Knitting Circle." [Deadline]
There is life outside of "Real Housewives." On "Celebrity Apprentice," NeNe Leakes proved it and even, cough, Danielle Staub has. And now former "Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Dina Manzo has her own show for HGTV. The series will follow her and her event planning company on the job. [TVSquad]
In a very interesting show crossover, Sam Lloyd reprises his role as Ted from "Scrubs" for the "Cougar Town" finale on May 25. Apparently, he now lives in Hawaii and encounters the family there. Ultimately, he becomes "instrumental" in solving the family's dilemma. [ABC]
The very funny star of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the voice of Helen on "Life & Times of Tim," Edie McClurg, will be guest-starring on "Rules of Engagement" in May. [TVGuide]

I love every bit of this article. I've been wondering what Edie McClurg has been up to, and now I know. Cool.
Dina Manzo on HGTV?? ugh, good luck.....
I don't understand why y'all are always so snippy about Heigl. I've loved her since ROSWELL and enjoy almost everything she does.
Actually, I'm really annoyed with this ever-increasing tendency for Zap's "reporters" (I use the word loosely because frankly, you guys can't write your way out of a paper bag) to interject their own personal feelings about a performer into what's supposedly a news article. Time for me to start looking for a new entertainment/listings home, I think. It's a shame, really, since I was with you since the day you came online.
Well... technically, HBO is NOT really TV - it's Cable, and a Special paid channel at that. Thus, NOT everyone can enjoy seeing her. So, technically, she is just making another movie - granted for HBO, not the big screen - but, still - a movie, like all the others she's starred in. I, for one, would like to see her upcoming movie - will keep an eye on the scheduled date when it'll be shown, since it is NOT mentioned above. Kudoos, Kate - spread your wings. First a marriage, then a baby - albeit adopted - now directing a movie... WOW, she's really busy, good for her.
