HBO renews 'Ricky Gervais Show' for Season 3
Television will continue to be a forum for exploiting Karl Pilkington for some time.
A week shy of the Season 2 finale, HBO announces that "The Ricky Gervais Show" is returning for another run.
An animated comedy, based off of repurposed podcast audio, the show features Gervais, collaborator Stephen Merchant and their friend, "Idiot Abroad" star Pilkington.
Gervais is obviously a dynamo, and his distinct laughter is often reason enough to tune into the series, but its Karl's absurd stories and musings that drive the show.
In their release, HBO reports that "The Ricky Gervais Show" podcast recently passed the 300-million download mark.
