GLAAD Awards Winners list: 'Glee' and 'Modern Family' are tied
Sophomore comedies "Glee" and "Modern Family" tend to be nominated for most of the same categories at awards events, so it's no surprise that they were both nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at this Sunday's Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Awards event in Los Angeles. What was surprising was that both series won. The GLAAD board decided that the series' contribution to cultural awareness was equal, so both took home the award.
Jim Carrey and Ewan MacGregor's "I Love You Philip Morris," based on the true story of a con man who fell in love with a fellow inmate, won for Outstanding Limited Release Film. "Project Runway" won the award for Outstanding Reality Program and Lawrence O'Donnell's speech about Fort Worth won for Outstanding TV Journalism Segment.
Additional awards were announced at a previous ceremony in New York, and more will be announced at an upcoming ceremony in San Francisco.
