Demi Lovato leaves Disney's 'Sonny With a Chance' with 'So Random' in its place
"Sonny With a Chance" is no more.
The Disney series, which took a blow when star Demi Lovato entered an in-patient treatment program for "physical and emotional issues," is switching gears now that the star has decided not to return.
"I don't think going back to 'Sonny' would be healthy for my recovery," Lovato tells People. "Being in front of a camera would make me nervous."
Instead, the 18-year-old will focus on her singing career. "It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music," she continues. "It's kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn't be a better time for me to move on."
Disney is going forward with the series, rolling with the temporary retooling into a sketch comedy show "So Random" and making it permanent. "We respect Demi's decision to focus full time on her music and not immediately return to her acting career," a Disney Channel rep shared with People. "She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity."
Disney has fostered Lovato's fame since she first appeared in the the 2008 Disney Channel original movie "Camp Rock" with the Jonas Brothers. The two will continue to collaborate under Disney's Hollywood Records label.

So basically she doesnt want anyhing to do with Disney anymore? What a way to treat the fans... She's using her personal issues as an excuse to branch out away from Disney and I think that is unfair to the cast and crew of 'Sonny' and all her fans who tuned in every week...
funny how after her intial release from rehab she said she was ready an looked foward to getting back to work on "sonny" an now weeks later she says it wont be healthy for her....huh they fired her

wow i cant believe Demi isnt in sonny with a chance,but I hope she gets better! Ive noticed every disney star acts then two or more years later they sing like Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus,Demi Lovato,Britney Spears,Lindsey Lohan thats just mean and rude use disney then take its advantage some cant even sing right Miley her show was so DUMB Lindsey Lohan No Comment on her Britney Spears not a good role model neithe is Demi Lovato Selena is way different I can tell she really is thankful to Disney SHe Rocks
ppl are being so hard on her. Maybe she was fired...maybe shew wasnt. but i believe she may be right. there are too many ppl judging her and shes having a hard time. shes not a bad role model and im sick and tired of people comparing her to britney spears and miley cyrus.
shes never done drugs. shes still clean and she is a more amazing singer than both of them will ever be combined. she works for good causes and charities and you ppl disrespect her like crap. shes a beautiful person and has so much overwhelming talent. shes an ARTIST. that is why even when she takes a break from being in front of a camera she will still sing her heart out. u didnt really expect her to quit singing did u?

For crying out loud ppl Demi isnt doing this to hurt her fans or anybody! Shes trying to recover from her emotional problems i mean the girl was bullied mentally and physically since she was little when she lived in Texas thats a long time its hard to recover from that long. Im bullied i know what she goes through. You ppl who disrespect her for no reason LAY OFF and now were comparing her to Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears?? Shes NOTHING like them at all, give the girl some respect shes beautiful and is very very talented. Her so called "fans" who all of a sudden turn their back on her for one thing grow the hell up

I LOVE HER AS DEMI AND SONNY BUT SHE LOVES NOT KIND TO HER FANS AND IT IS NOT FAIR TO QUIT WHEN THE GOING GETS TUFF.
