'Dancing with the Stars': Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff waltz their way up the leader board

macchio-rehearse.jpgOn Monday's (April 11) "Dancing with the Stars," Ralph Macchio and partner Karina Smirnoff turned in yet another well-executed performance. Dancing the waltz to Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," the couple earned the highest score of the night (until Hines Ward and Kym Johnson tied up the score with their subsequent performance): 25 out of 30 possible points.

And the dancing was sublime. Along with the music, performed by an in-house orchestra.

"Achingly romantic," judge Bruno Tonioli breathlessly exclaimed, "Brilliant storytelling through dance."

"You've been in the wilderness for two weeks," added Len Goodman. "You're back."

"Normally I would say that's very melodramatic at the beginning," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba, describing the over-emoted and (cough cough) melodramatic opening in which Macchio "acted" out his pain at the loss of his Juliet.

What did you think? Should Macchio and Smirnoff have waltzed back into the lead with Monday's performance?

Love the classical music night! It looked like almost everyone danced better dancing to the classics. It was terrific!

I think Ralph's a better dancer than any of the other men. The judges seem to be harsh with Ralph, I thought he might have deserved the first 10 of the seaon last night. Iwish the judges loved Ralph like they seem to love Himes Ward.

Ralph was brillant and flawless, I am clueless as to how he got a 25. Hines is so overrated it's ridiculous.

This waltz was Ralph's best dance and should have got all 9's or at least a 10. For some reason the judges favor Hines who will probably win. Ralph & Karina are still my favorites anyway. He's doing extremely well.

Tonight (4-18-2011) has lost me for good. The obvious scripting & bias on part of the judges is just too much to take any more.

The Judges obviously Favor Hines and we all know why ! They did the same thing for Eric Smith who was also a football player and a Black Dancer. Carrie Ann is Sooo obvious in her favoring of Hines. Romeo is a much better dancer, but he is not a Football star. I am through with this "politically Correct" program. It is not about Dancing !
