'Dancing With the Stars': Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy discuss their fall
Seeing one of the amateur competitors on "Dancing With the Stars" take a spill is never fun. Seeing one of the pros wipe out is actually kind of scary.
The audience gasped and held its collective breath at the April 4 taping of the "DWTS" performance night when seasoned pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy buckled from a sudden pain in his hamstring and took partner Kirstie Alley to the floor with him.
The duo recovered and received decent marks from the judges, but everyone wondered if the visibly pained Maks was actually badly injured.
Zap2it was backstage after the show, where Maks brushed off questions if he'd be seeing a doctor. "No, trust me. I'm thanking everybody for their concern, but it's not about that," he says, quick to turn the attention back to his partner. "The show is about dancing with people like this... I was very proud of Kirstie's Rumba this week and just wanted to show it."
Kirstie did not seem phased by the snafu at all. "I didn't even know I fell, honest to god," she says. "Next thing I know, I'm looking down and hearing him say 'Let's keep going.'"
She says one of the things that helped her continue the routine is the fact that she's never nervous on the ballroom floor. "I feel so comfortable in that space," she says. "I see my friends and I see the other dancers' friends. It feels intimate, it feels like dinner theater. I love live TV, like I love it when I do 'Saturday Night Live.' You can screw up."
If you're keeping track, it's actually been 18 years since the actress last hosted "SNL," but she says she'd "love" to do it again.

Don't you think BROOKE BURKE should know how the dancer's names? She kept calling Kirstie, "Kristy" tonight. Tacky.
I agree with you Chris - very tacky
She is no Tom- she doesn't listen - she goes on her own perky way!
Brooke needs to be let go. she sucks the energy out of the show every time she goes on camera. Its bad
Brooke is a vapid robot. Surely there must be a good-looking, perky woman with good ears AND A BRAIN out there who could do this job a thousand times better than La Burke.
Brooke doesn't seem to be able to pronounce any of the names. I cringe every week when she introduces Maks and Anna........
My leg would buckle too if that much weight had landed on it. Max is lucky it wasn't broken.
Kristy was fantastic, kept the pace and never missed a step and covered for Max while he got over the pain in his thigh. She is a showman all the way..Don't blame her,his hel wentout from under neat him and he took her with him.I hope he is ok,I live Max and Kristy they are good dancers together....I wish I could dance like Kristy!!She is graceful and smooth,,,,,,,!
Leave Brooke alone, i love here. Quite being so jealous. Brooke is such a hot young thing
From the nitpicking squad: fazed not phased
How has Tom B not won an Emmy yet for DWTS!!! Way overdue. He is by far the best reality host.
