'Celebrity Apprentice': Was La Toya Jackson's quiet style misunderstood for weakness?
Like NeNe Leakes, we won't mince words. The women's team has finally gotten what they've wanted all this time on "The Celebrity Apprentice": La Toya Jackson is out.
We've seen it for weeks. Marlee Matlin tried to get La Toya booted on the auction challenge, and then she came up with Michael's rare t-shirt. The women have been calling her ineffective and the weakest link for several boardrooms. Yet, as Donald Trump said in Sunday's (April 24) boardroom, she has won the highest compliments from a couple of the challenges' executives and surpassed his expectations. They even thought that she would be eliminated when she was project manager, yet the Australian Gold execs loved what she did around the glass box. Sure, her process was quite nonlinear and unconventional in comparison to other project managers, but aren't the results what really matters?
On this task, she was the only one that recognized Star Jones, who was the project manager, was on the wrong path in delivering a whole new conceptual advertising idea for Trump Hotel Collection. She even soothed the savage beast when NeNe was dead-set on not working with her. And she's one of the only people since Lisa Rinna with the ability to stand up to Star. Star came up with the concept. Star dictated the photos. And Star wrote the pitch. These were all things that the executives hated. Shouldn't Star have taken the responsibility for the loss? Is it possible that Star saw La Toya as a possible threat?
La Toya's style is quieter than the other women. She's more off the beaten path when it comes to ideas than the other women. And we think that may have been misinterpreted as weak. We think Trump may have seen that, but he can also see that the women didn't want her going forward. So, he fired her.

LaToya should have spoken up more for herself. She knew all during the task that Star's "vision" was all wrong. She also was correct that Star would not be receptive to any dissent to her plan. Star should have gone...she was the weakest link in this task and is not a nice person. I'll miss LaToya
I hope a woman does not win this season. Marlee, Star, NeNe, and Hope have proven that they are ineffective in everything except ganging up on La Toya. I will not watch another episode until the finale.
Donald Trump should have fired Star for the task at hand, not for going forward! Donald, you're fired!!!

I really don't understand why he fired La Toya. She wasn't the project manager. She was the one that said the presentation was corny and not creative. She tried to get a word in but Star wouldn't let anyone get a word in edge wise. Also a few weeks ago Marc McGrath was fired soley because he was the project manager and came up with the pirate theme that Australian Gold didn't like. Star came up with the theme and wrote the script that Trump executives didn't like. So again this was inconsistent. Star failed Star should have been fired. La Toya was the only one that had a creative bone on that team. Now it's gone. Who are the women going to blame their problems on now?
i love latoya, she's fun to watch. i wish one of the men could have been fired, or maybe hope---i just like it when the boring people get fired.
why are the recaps so truncated? why dont you do the whole show like you used to? I feel if I couldnt see the show at least the recap should catch me up. This is more like a blurb! Did you watch the whole show or read a recap yourself?
Nancy, I so agree with you. He is suppose to fire people based on the task, not so the women have a chance to win. This reminds me of when he fired Kloe because she had a DUI. This being not long after he gave his beauty queen a second chance for being a drunk and drinking with an under age girl. If this is the way he thinks, do we want him for president? I don't think so.
The only reason "The Donald" fired LaToya is ratings. NeNe and Star go at it, which keeps the audience tuning in and ratings are where it's at for Trump. Just look at the coming attractions. NeNe going after Star...they could have showed anything, but they showed the catfight. Donald loves his yes men, including all his kids!!!!
