'Big Bang Theory's' Simon Helberg talks Season 4 engagement and 'traumatic moments' to come

The last time we saw "The Big Bang Theory," Howard (Simon Helberg) reached a major milestone when he popped the question to Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

  The CBS comedy returns next week and Zap2it spoke with Helberg about what to expect from the aftermath of his character's proposal.

"The rest of the season is sort of dealing with [the engagement] -- Trying to break the news to my mother, which of course is very problematic," Helberg explains. "There's sort of issues with Leonard and dating Raj's sister and how that affects Penny. It's a lot of falling apart and getting into trouble and things like that, so it should be exciting."

"It's exciting to watch these guys succeed and completely fail," he adds. "So you'll see a lot of that. As soon as they do something right, something wrong happens."

As for Mama Wolowitz's (Carol Ann Susi) reaction to the news, Helberg says it won't be too surprising but will definitely be entertaining.

"They're attached at the hip, so you can imagine probably what it's going to be," he explains of the reaction. "But there is some crazy stuff that happens... there's some traumatic moments."
