Zap2it On the Scene: 'America's Best Dance Crew'

'America's Best Dance Crew's' D-Trix talks Bieber Fever; Watch the first group performance now

d-trix-abdc.jpg'America's Best Dance Crew' is back for its sixth season, and Zap2it was on the scene at the taping of the first episode.

We caught up with Lil' Mama, who told us which crews she's most looking forward to watching, as well as rookie judge D-Trix.

Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval makes his first appearance on the "ABDC" judges panel as the product of Season 3 champions, Quest Crew. The "So You Think You Can Dance" and "ABDC" alum told us that he'll bring a fresh perspective to the judges table.

"I just want them to know that from my point of view, I'm really here to help them," he says. "I've been through the trials and tribulations of going through a crew to become 'America's Best Dance Crew.' So, whatever I see I just want to make sure that regardless, I give them something to take home, whether it's good or bad, to help them in the end."

Adding, "I grew up as a street dancer just like all of them, so I know what it's like to dance for nothing."

Don't expect D-Trix to play it totally cool now that he's on the other side of the table. The dancer admits to us that he still gets star struck here and there, especially when it comes to one of the featured superstars from this season.

"When Justin Bieber gets here the whole roof is going to fall down," he jokes. "That's the ultimate definition of starstruck."

While it isn't likely that the Biebs will make an appearance on the actual stage, D-Trix has had the opportunity to meet the teen dream once before.

"I'm a huge fan of Justin Bieber. We actually met once!" he says. "He knew my name cause he used to watch 'ABDC,' but he's so cool now I don't know if he would."

You can watch D-Trix make his judging debut during the Thursday (Apr. 7) Lil' Wayne themed premiere on MTV at 10 PM.

See our full backstage interview below, and enjoy the crazy techno-pop blaring in the background. One thing we can definitely say about the "ABDC" set -- It's loud! We've also included a sneak peek at the very first group performance, set to "6 foot 7 foot." Are you going to tune in on Thursday?

I was really hoping that this show would get picked up for another season, and I was so happy when it did. I'm really looking forward to seeing it tonight.

I liked the theme weeks and the variety of music "ABDC" had in each episode, so we'll see if it's still as good when only one singer's songs are featured each week. And with respect to Omarion for filling in for Shane Sparks last season, I think the addition of "D-Trix" to the judging panel is going to bring another element to the show that will make the crews think smarter and dance better. I can't wait.

i love the way you guy are doing your thin
