GoogleFor the "American Idol" Top 8, the Idols were paired up for duet performances. Country cuties Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina were paired to perform Lady Antebellum's "American Honey." What did you think?
Honestly, we thought it was pretty darn good. Scotty started off a little shaky, but Lauren can really handle Hillary Scott's vocals. And when they two sang at the same time, Scotty seemed to get some confidence and it was better. We would love to hear Lauren on Lady Antebellum's "I Need You Now" at some point. Maybe if she and Scotty make Top 4, where they have in the past had them do duets for performance night, they could do that song.
It turned out to be a good night for them elimination-wise as well, as both were declared safe very early on. Do you think we're looking at an all-country finale showdown?

Scotty McCreery's weird way of starting at both the camera and Lauren creeps me out. It's like Mad magazine's Alfred E. Neuman came to life and is about to do nasty things. Not only that, his singing is about as exciting as a root canal! There's a reason Randy Travis doesn't have hits any more. We're tired of that kind of sleeping inducing nonsense!
Scotty is great. Love him, his music, his voice, his stage presence, his attitude, and believe he'll be a great hit in the country music. Can't wait for him to prove all you skeptics wrong!!!!

Haley and Casey - AMAZING!!!
Although JAMES is the top of the crop for vocals and performance-I would love to see haley , casey, or stephano part of the top three --very tough to decide this year!!!Ugh!!!Lauren is so sweet but really needs to start performing as well as she sings-Haley is very different and america might just enjoy her performance better-she's so beautifully sophisticated and has the WHOLE package, again very tough this year-the concert will be amazing!!
I THINK AMERICAN IDOL SHOULD HAVE AN EXCEPTION THIS YEAR AND HAVE A TOP "FOUR" INSTEAD OF THREE -- THEY REALLY DESERVE IT!

Scotty was not nervous,scared or rattled at the first of american honey. He couldn't hear himself. If you know anything about performing and singing with a sound system you will know his ear phones weren't working and he could not hear what he was singig. Didn't you see him pull the phone from his ear as Lauren was walking out. He did a fantastic job singing under those circumstances. Just shows his professionalism and ability to handle anything that might happen on stage, to keep the show going. Love you Scotty. You are a WINNER in our eyes!!!!!
I think Scotty and Lauren done an awesome job and they are very cute together....I think they will both go very very far even after this show. I think they will be in the final 4 along with James and Casey
