Zap2it has been looking back at the best performances from each stage of the "American Idol"
finals and now we're taking a gander at the Top 6. This week on "Idol,"
the contestants are taking on Carole King,
but what about the past performances at the Top 6 stage?Who are you favorites? Vote below. As of this writing, you've voted Carrie Underwood's "Alone" as the best Top 11 performance, David Cook's "Billie Jean" as the best Top 10 performance and David Archuleta's "Smoky Mountain Memories" as the best Top 9 performance, Adam Lambert's "Mad World" as the best Top 8 performance and Archie's "When You Believe" is the best Top 7 performance.
We had forgotten how rough Gloria Estefan week was for Season 3 - so much so that we left it out. And who doesn't love Daughtry showing his sensitive side on Love Songs week? Also, Andrew Lloyd Webber week was not particularly kind to Season 7, but we did like David Cook's "Music of the Night."

Melinda Doolittle was the best of the bunch. A class act. I consider her and Carrie Underwood the best Idol has EVER seen.
I will never get what people see or hear in Clay Aiken... He doesn't even have 'staying power' as a celebrity...he's a hasbeen now. I agree with Chris's comment...Kelly Clarkson is the best, and no one compares to her.
Will never understand why fans can not just comment on their favorite singer without knocking another down. Many great performances here. I remember this Clay performance. Loved it! I also love Kelly and David.

I still remember when Kelly sang Stuff Like That There. There are certain artists who try to do what Kelly did and it's such work for them and you're kind of on the edge of your seat wondering if it's going to go off the rails. Kelly has a way of doing difficult things vocally with such ease; there's no doubt with her. That's what we all said to each other that night. It's just so easy for her! Awesome performance.
