'American Idol': Jacob Lusk's 'Oh No, Not My Baby' kicks the night off right

For Carole King night, "American Idol" Top 6 finalist Jacob Lusk took on "Oh No, Not My Baby," a 1964 hit written by King and first recorded by Maxine Brown. Rod Stewart, Cher and Linda Ronstadt have all also recorded a version.

For Jacob, he made it uptempo with the horns blaring and a great scat/riff section. It was a wonderful way to kick off the night. The judges were complimentary - Randy said it wasn't perfect, but the scat section was incredible. Tyler said he loved seeing Jacob finally shake his tail feather and we agree. Seacrest called the fun infectious.

What did you think? Jacob was in the Bottom 3 last week, is this the comeback that is enough to keep him in the competition? We think it might be.

Jacob absolutely deserves to be in the top 5! He is amazing!!

Jacob absolutely deserves to be in the Top 5! He is amazing!!

He won't go if I have anything to say about it!

Jacob is great and it's great to see him just enjoying singing again because when he's really enjoying singing, he's at the top and bringing us all along. I loved it.

Thank you Jane and Gina, it's good to know other people on this site know talent when they hear it!

I think Jacobs performance was good, but it was a setup from the start. Have any one noticed the two contestants that have never been first to sing? What makes Durbin and Ms. L so special? I thought everyone has the opportunity to start first. Hum... I know this is a competition, but why does it seem fixed to me. So by mishap, Jacob goes first, Haley goes last, Jacob bottom three? Jacob goes home? Humm, something is not right. One of his better up beat performances and the judges have nothing good to say? Humm, then take a beautiful song sung by donny hathway prior to his death "you've got a friend" and turn it into a "country" rendition, that has no flawes? Humm something is going on.... Im sure Jacob is comfortable for whatever may come, but america isnt seeing the whole picture, and if they did they would be pissed off!.... Its not about race, color, or who you are but the talent that you possess. Not everyone is going to like Jacob that is why they have many different styles of music. But tell me this what does the real american idol look like and sound like (studio engin...?) My hat is off to Jacob and all the other contestants that have struggled to get this far for no matter where they end, they have to believe within themselves that they are a winner..... A Star if Born.

I am Jacob's #1 fan! I think he is the best singer in this competition and he deserves to win! I agree that the judges have not sung his praises as they should and that has hurt him. I have prepared myself that he probably won't win because of his unpopularity and may likely be voted off tonight, but I think it is a real shame. I sure hope he continues to make records and perform in concert, because I will be there front row center! I am totally in love with Jacob! He is truly amazing and I do not understand how others can not see it and hear it! Just don't get that! I wish Jacob the best!

I am a Jacob fan don't hear a voice like that now days. However I think the guy that coach the singers do not like Jacob and he is holding him back, I think Jacob should sing the songs he want to sing and not listing to this guy. YOU REALLY NEED TO GO FOR IT JACOB

Jacob voice is the best in this competition and I think he should win. He may not be the judges favor, but his voice speak for itself. But you know some people can sing and some can sang and Jacob is another Jennifer Hudson he can sang and he will make it weather he wins or not for that reason. I am pulling for him to win.
