'All My Children's' Susan Lucci on 'Desperate Housewives'? Yea or nay?
The buzz over whether "All My Children" legend Susan Lucci will join ABC's "Desperate Housewives" is reaching a fever pitch.
ABC insiders tell the New York Post that with the soap canceled, Lucci's solid contract with the network continues on after shooting ends in August and that places her in the ideal situation for a move from Pine Valley to Fairview.
"Desperate Housewives" begins shooting its next season in July, so that will mean that Lucci would have to play double duty for a month.
A representative for Lucci says she's fielding many offers and an ABC rep doesn't deny that Lucci may join, but does say, "Susan Lucci will not be filming 'Desperate Housewives' in July."
Some have speculated that the rumors are a power play by ABC after the prolonged contract negotiations with the current "Housewives."

Since most AMC fans will be boycotting ABC entirely, that show probably won't last much longer either.

Yes, she is a Desparate Housewife and would be a wonderful assest.
She would be good--if they gave her a well-written role. A year ago we were all excited about Vanessa Williams joining DH. Yet, her character has become a "sidekick," which is wasting her talent. Let LaLucci's character have much more to do.
YES! Viva Susan Lucci! But I want to see her in a role that is different from Erica. Susan does comedy very well.
Susan should move over to a better show like, "Days of our Lives".

Days of our lives is awful Zeke, the worst soap on air (they destroyed Sami the best character they had for years among lot's of others cringe-worthy things) it deserves to be cancelled before these two ABC soaps (and the ratings are horrible).
So good for Lucci, being a legend on her medium apparently can get a prime time gig on a very popular and famous prime time hit show like DH ..impressive above all at her age in tv, coming from soaps (although being a legend helps her).

Vanessa Williams's role has developed better than poor Alfre Woodard's Betty Applewhite from Season Two.
@jfms: Williams was not going to be a fifth "Housewife" on the level of Huffman, Hatcher, Cross and Longoria -- so yes, she's going to be supporting. She's been given some pretty great material though.
