ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, BBC: Which Royal Wedding coverage did you choose?
The Royal Wedding was dominating the television airwaves Friday (April 29) starting at 3:30 a.m. ET and lasting for as long as seven or eight hours for some stations. We're wondering where you chose to watch the coverage and what you thought.Of the ones we managed to take in, we thought BBC America, anchored by Huw Edwards, handled it the best with CNN a close second. The BBC featured serious guests and treated the festivities with the dignity they deserved. They were obviously enjoying their coverage, but not to the point of being silly.
CNN's Anderson Cooper and Piers Morgan were a decent one-two punch of commentators and the always-charming Cat Deeley provided some cheeky humor and good fashion commentary. We thought CNN was pretty solid.
NBC had "Today" hosts Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer and various other cast members from the morning program on the ground in London. They were ... OK. They were having fun, but it got a little silly at times, as they seemed to not quite hold the event in the regard as the preceding two networks.
Over on CBS, Katie Couric seemed uncomfortable. She didn't really appear to be enjoying herself and she seemed confused at times. We also didn't love her pink outfit.
We did not get a chance to take in E! or ABC's coverage, so please let us know in the comments what you thought if you were watching on those channels. And vote below in our poll - Where did you watch the Royal Wedding?

Guess which King banned Carla Marinucci?
Being in Canada I had access to a couple of other options. I liked CTV's best because the picture quality was superior to the others (at least on SD), though they did have an annoying animated logo in the bottom left. Ultimately, though I did end up mostly watching CNN and I agree the commentary was well-handled there.
ABC's coverage of the Royal Wedding would have been much better if they would have taken down the purple banner of ABC and that it was live coverage, it was way too big and unneccessary. All of the other channels in watching the recap had a subtle tag and small and not distracting. ABC covered the entire botom of the screen!
ABC did a fine job. They conducted themselves in a dignified manner appropriate to the occassion, but we did get an occasional glimspe of the on-camera staff taking in the experience. It was good.
I flipped through a lot of channels, and the BBC-America coverage was by far the best. Sophisticated and understated, like Catherine's dress. God save the Queen, and the BBC.
I don't get BBC America so I channel hopped before choosing CNN. Piers. Anderson and Cat did a very good job. And the postage stamp sized logo on the screen was not distracting, unlike ABC's (and sometimes CBS's) huge banner.
Except for daytime soaps, I refuse to watch #ABC. I won't watch #ABC until it uncancels #AMC and #OLTL or sells them to another network. Guess what? CNN was great!
I enjoyed the CNN coverage online beginning at 3am est. They did not miss a beat and Piers with Cooper were quite funny at times.
I watched coverage commercial free on BBC. It was great. I don't watch anything on ABC anymore except my soaps.
How did the British come up with the name Duchess of Cambridge and what actually does that mean?
