'Wonder Woman': Adrianne Palicki's costume gets a much-needed makeover

NBC seems to have responded to the universal groan that accompanied the first peek at Adrianne Palicki's "Wonder Woman" costume. When we got our first peek earlier this month, Palicki was sheathed in what appeared to be bust-to-toe latex: a red bodice, blue "liquid" leggings and blue boots, all with a high gloss sheen reminiscent of a brand new Hummer.But in a new set of pictures of Palicki posted on the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Palicki's look has definitely been tweaked. First, the blue leggings are now a matte finish, contrasting better with the glossy red bustier. And the boots are no longer blue as in the original pictures. They've been switched to cherry red leather, giving the entire look a balance that was totally missing before.
Here's a peek at the original, poured into look:
We're still not convinced it beats Linda Carter's original one-piece, but we're definitely liking the update.

Looks definitely much better now ...
I know why they messed up her colored boots from blue to red and I have to admit this is even way better than the original print they had on from a few weeks ago. I'm really rooting for Wonder Woman and Charlie's Angels to become the most buzzworthy series for the fall if both shows do much better with Hawaii Five - O.

Yeah, the boots are an improvement. I don't know why anyone thinks the swimsuit look could possibly be on the table in today's TV world, and Carter was the only one who was able to get away with it (recall the Cathy Lee Crosby TV movie that predated Lynda's stint abandoned the swimsuit, too). I'm unconvinced that they actually changed the leggings - lots of things look shiny in a studio and matte outdoors. Even the stars look the same.
It is fairly difficult to tell about the leggings, given the changes in lighting, plus the presence of a stuntwoman in several of the shots.
Still, if I had to guess, I'd say they've gone from latex to spandex. A shinier spandex would have been better than this duller spandex, to my mind, but then again, that might merely be lighting too.
By the way, the dive suit Lynda Carter wore in the original series was a great costume in my view.
I wonder if that is going to be brought back in some fashion.

When I saw the first outfit all I could think was this looks like crap before they even get out of the gate with the series. I also agree that I'm not sure this beats the original Wonder Woman one-piece worn by Lynda Carter, but it's an improvement.
