'Vampire Diaries': Ian Somerhalder's dream Damon/Elena ending

"The Vampire Diaries" stars haven't yet seen scripts for the inevitably epic Season 2 finale, so they're just as anxious as we are to find out how everything will come to a climax. "I'm just curious as to what the hells going to happen," series star Ian Somerhalder tells MTV. "Season 1 was such a great journey and it took us all for a ride. I don't know anything. Which is kind of like life."Not having a script to flip through doesn't stop Somerhalder from imagining his own personal dream ending for the season. "What I would like to see is, is I would like to see Damon kidnap Elena and then go to the Caribbean," he says. "We'll go to Paris first, then they go looking for her, and then they disappear to the Caribbean for a season or something, while everyone frantically searches for them."
Yes, 'shippers, Somerhalder is firmly on Team "Delena." The way things stand right now, kidnapping may be Damon's only chance -- Nina Dobrev tells us that as far as Elena is concerned, she's totally devoted to Stefan (Paul Wesley). "Elena loves Damon and cares about him, but she's not in love with him," she says. "She's in love with Stefan."
Hmm. Somehow we don't see Stefan as the whisk-her-off-to-the-Caribbean type.
"The Vampire Diaries" returns on April 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

First we hear Nina denies dating Ian, now we hear that Elena is totally devoted to Stefan. The lady(Nina & Elena) doth protest too much, methinks...
That's a fabulous fantasy--the crew gets to shoot in great locations, and we get to watch Elena pretend not to be interested in Damon (in highly romantic locations, no less!) with Stefan not so easily available. Of course Damon would have to compel her not to try too hard to escape, but it would be interesting to see what a minimal amount of compulsion and maximal Damon charm could do. Things in Mystic Falls this season have felt so closed-in and gloomy, this would entirely break the frame. Love it!!

Elaborating on the fantasy a little bit--it's been commented what a pity to set Klaus up as this great villain and lose him quickly. So, kill off Uncle John and Katherine; Damon escapes with Elena; Stefan and Bonnie can't try too hard to find her lest it put Klaus on her trail...has possibilities!

what is this comment? Nina and Elena are too different people. Her personal life is no one's business and the at this point in the story line Elena is with Stefan.
All I know, is in the book, Damon turned Elena which made her fall in love with him for eternity. She had to "learn" to love Stefan again.
I don't know why people have to make real life actors/actresses date each other just because they like their same characters, it is lame, stick to fantasy and don't try to make it reality. If Nina says she doesn't date Ian, I believe her, if Nina says that she likes chocolate I believe her and not crazy people.
damon loves elena, and ian loves nina, they are dating hiden ... nina and ian only want privacy, and for this reason, they are silent now, but in future, they will to speak to all, ok wait and see ! delena and ianina forever :) I love them !!!

I don't think Ian is the ONE nina wants..and if she was dating Ian wouldn't she want her charatcer to be with him? but Instead she continues to explain that elena is IN LOVE with stefan! gosh people always consider what damon wants but not what elena wants..why are ppl so caught up in this Nian fantasy.. i believe nina she's not dating Ian so give it a rest and i hate how the media hype mess up find a real Job and stop messing up people's lives jeez!
