'True Blood's' Stephen Moyer says Bill is down, but not out
We can't say that things look good for Stephen Moyer's character, vampire Bill, in Season 4 on HBO's "True Blood." Not only has he lost Sookie (Anna Paquin) after she found out that his initial interest in her stemmed from following orders from the vampire queen, but it looks as if he'll have a hard time competing for her affections with all signs pointing to Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) bout with amnesia.
Moyer tells us that Bill had his reasons for lying to Sookie. "I think that he would argue that everything he's done was out of love," he says.
"And I think he got himself into such a difficult situation, because his love surprised him," Moyer adds. "So, some of the things he had been sent to do were things that he had to do, because of his place in vampire society."
But while he may be down, Moyer says he's not out in Season 4. "I think he will try and redeem himself in some way," he tells us.
Truebies, do you think it may be too little, too late for Bill? Or do you think he can still redeem himself?

So.. Does it mean that Sophie Anne won the fight? *-*
I do not think it is to late for Bill compton. I also think there will be some kind of twist with the Queen. He still could have silver on him and use it against her. I really like the character and think he brings lots to the series. But other characters need to grow as well. Been hearing that allen ball is not really into happy endings. So with that in the back of my mind, I wont hold my breath for Bill and sookie.
I'm so tired of Beel. Hopefully, Alan Ball will write in that other vampire woman who's Beel's "sister" (the other vampire Lorena made) and pair those two up instead. Sookie needs to move on from this lying liar.
It's never too late for Bill. I hope Bill redeems himself, but not before Sookie realizes how good she had it with him. Even after Sookie and Eric hook up and you know they will, he'll continue using her and putting himself first.
Bill's story is an essential element of True Blood, which is not just the Sookie Stackhouse story. Bill's story is not only compelling in and of itself, but Sookie's story starts when Bill comes into her life. And though she may not want to be with this vampire "liar" now, and maybe never again, unlike the other taller vampire liar/manipulator, Bill actually lives in the town the story is set in, Bill belongs in the story just as Tara, Sam, Jason, Lafayette, Arlene, Terry, Hoyt and Jessica do. If Sookie can overlook all the things Eric did to her and her friends for his own gain, overlook Eric's lies and the things he withheld in order to have a fling with him, she will someday forgive Bill his lesser sin and realize she still loves him. Whether they will end up as a couple is less sure. But if Alan Ball is not into happy endings, then it is not only "team Bill" who stands to be disappointed.
It is Bill's story that draws me into True Blood. I love the fact that he was sent to seduce Sookie then fell in love with her. That's what makes the story so good and I'm rooting for him
My favorite character is Sam. He should hook up with Sookie.
True Blood, in its own special way, is a love story. Bill will find his way back to Sookie.
@Cin - I agree 100%!
Although it looks dicey now, Bill will redeem himself and I am so looking forward to the Bill/Sookie reunion (wink wink)!!
I think it will take at least a couple of Seasons for Bill to redeem himself as far as Sookie is concerned.
And I do not know if he will ever be completely clear of all stench of his deception even when he does.
