With summer just around the corner, TNT has firmed up premiere plans for new series "Falling Skies" and "Franklin & Bash" -- as well as return dates for plenty of returning series, including the (possibly/sort of) final run of "The Closer."

"Skies," the high concept alien invasion thriller from Steven Spielberg starring "ER" vet Noah Wyle, bows Sunday, June 19, at the early hour of 9 p.m ET with a two-hour premiere. After that, it will air at 10 p.m. ET, with Season 4 of "Leverage" returning to its 9 p.m. slot on June 26.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer's legal comedy "Franklin & Bash" makes its debut a few weeks earlier on Wednesday, June 1, at 9 p.m. ET. The six-episode final leg of "Men of a Certain Age's" Season 2 begins that same night at 10 p.m. ET.

On Tuesday, June 14, "Memphis Beat" and "HawthoRNe" return at 9 p.m and 10 p.m. ET, respectively -- the latter with a new cast member in Marc Anthony.

And then there's "The Closer," which launches a possibly super-sized, possibly spin-off-setting-up Season 7 on Monday, July 11, at 9 p.m ET. It will continue to lead into it's successful companion series from last summer, "Rizzoli & Isles," which premieres the same night at 10 p.m. ET.

Thanks for the news!

("into it's successful companion" shouldn't have an apostrophe though)

Though it's not in primetime, we should also mention NASCAR coming to TNT beginning June 12 for six races, including the Coke Zero 400 on Saturday, July 2 with its wide-open coverage.

Falling Skies looks/sounds decent. I think I'll tune in!

I will HATE to see the end of "The Closer" since it is my favorite show. The cast is superlative and I even love watching the re-runs. And the writing is hilarious. Thanks to everyone involved in this show.
