'Tiny Dancer': Did 'American Idol's' Stefano Langone pull off the classic?

Confession: We sort of loved Stefano Langone's performance of "Tiny Dancer" on Wednesday's Elton John themed "American Idol" episode. We haven't necessarily loved every performance of his thus far this season, but "Tiny Dancer" has always been one of our favorite Elton songs, and we liked Stefano's twist on it.It didn't come easy, certainly. Jimmy Lovine didn't pull any punches as Stefano worked out the arrangement in the studio, but Stefano assured viewers at home that the tough-love approach is exactly how he likes to work.
The judges gave Stefano strong reviews. Everyone mentioned that his audience connection had improved over previous weeks' performances, and Jennifer Lopez said, "I could really feel you taking our notes." Most of the Zap2it staff (and our Twitter feed) were lukewarm about the performance. What'd you think? Weigh in below in the comments.

Great idol night for James. James is always the highlight of the show. James is the best all around performer. James will be the 1st rocker to win American Idol. Stefano may be the dark horse. He is gifted with a beautiful voice, has tone quality, and should be in the final with James, although Casey could be the dark horse. As for the girls, Pia, Lauren and Haley are tops. Probably Pia will be the girl in the final 3.

By far, the worst season of talent ever. The judges are overly nice because they can't admit they chose so poorly. Scotty should win. If not, he will be a millionaire by summertime, anyway. Bring back Underwood, Daughtry, Lambert, McPhee...just to show us true talent!!
Most of these contestants are singers, but not "performers". You could draw a 4 foot square box around them and they never move out of it - Scotty, Thia, Pia, etc.
James and Halley are the best performers.
Casey is a performer, but seeing as how he got the least votes last week it means he doesn't have a big fan base.
