'The Secret Circle': Shelley Hennig cast as coven leader Diana
And the coven scores another member. This time? Its leader Diana."Days of Our Lives" actress Shelley Hennig has been cast as Diana in the CW's "Secret Circle." Earlier today it was announced "Smallville" alum Jessica Parker Kennedy signed on to play coven member Melissa.
Hennig, 24, will play Diana, the leader of the seven-member coven who has been dating Adam (Thomas Dekker) since childhood. Described as smart, sexy and a natural beauty, Diana immediately befriends new girl Cassie (Britt Robertson). As in the book series by L.J. Smith from which the TV series is based, Diana will clash with Faye (Phoebe Tonkin).
The pilot script was written by "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Kevin Williamson and Andrew Miller. Also executive producing are "Dollhouse" and "TVD's" Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft.
That leaves Nick and Doug as the only coven members yet to be cast. Leave your casting suggestions in the comments below, "TSC" fans.

As I sit here reading the book now, I pictured Diana as a brunette instead of the book's desciption of her character. Why? Because I had a feeling she would be cast as such. Either way, I'm so stoked for this series.
I heard Nykeem Provo might be playing Doug. Hes the canadian kid that was in Nikita. I hope he plays Nick tho. that woiuld be a killer cast
Shelley Hennig is a great choice. She was fanatastic in DAYS and is on the way to great things. She was a Best Younger Actress nominee for one year. Her being a former Miss Teen USA (2004) makes her easy on the eyes, too.
I just hope this show has good writers. No matter how great your actors are, they have to act out the script they are given.
I think producers should look into an up and coming Canadian actor named Tommy O'Reilley for either Nick or Doug since it is being shot in BC...He is about to blow up and would be a great addition to an already stellar cast...
Shelley would be smarter to stick with Days of our Lives instead of this. She gets much more exposure on Days than she will ever get on this short-lived, low rated show and network.

if you get shelly and you need to get Jay Johnson who also co-star with her on DOOL. He will be awesome nick or doug on that show.
I've read the secret circle more times than i can count. its one of my Favorited book,so i was excited to see that it is going to become a series,but i am put off by the casting.the book clearly give you and image of the correctors so a rundown of hair color, eye color,and how its starts so how could you get the casting wrong.
I love the secret circle and i was so happy when i found out it was going to be a show i think leonardo Dicaprio should play Nick
I hate you nerds who act like women must be "easy on the eyes" when I'm sure your stupid *** isn't! So shutup about your easy on the eyes comment, do you know how many women in this industry, or even just on really popular shows are easy on the eyes? Almost allllll women, I feel bad for the girls who aren't pretty because what kind of message does that send? And then you wonder why so many women feel they must cut up their face in order to look good. Easy on the eyes....coming from another 43343784 dork!
