'The Good Wife,' 'Justified' win Peabody Awards

julianna-margulies-the-good-wife.jpgBoth "The Good Wife" and "Justified" can add the distinction of winning a Peabody Awards to their resumes. The awards, handed out each year by the University of Georgia, honor excellence in electronic media.

Peabodys also went to PBS' "Masterpiece Theater" update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's work, "Sherlock: A Study in Pink," that catapulted the uber-sleuth and his trusty sidekick Watson into modern-day London and to "The Pacific," HBO's miniseries about American soldiers fighting in the pacific theater of World War II.

Also honored: TNT's "Men of a Certain Age," cited as a "world-wise comedy" and the HBO biopic "Temple Grandin," an "inspirational, visually creative" movie starring Claire Danes in the title role.

Other recipients, in categories ranging from radio to documentary film, can be viewed at the Peabody Awards site.
