'The Celebrity Apprentice': In Camping World, Gary Busey is king

Was the competition stacked against the women on "The Celebrity Apprentice" when the teams had to market and brand Camping World, a one-stop shop for camping gear?
No, we think they lost, because they never quite understood that when it comes to camping, the gear sells itself. Who wants to be out in the wild without the proper equipment? It's camping that needed to be sold, because that's the first hurdle - getting people to want to "rough it" in the first place. And then that they should go to Camping World for all their gear. And the women failed on both of those goals.
The men won for selling the experience and having a superior branding display with John Rich on his guitar and Jose Canseco throwing the ball around with fans. All together, it hooked people in to the ideal vision of a camping experience.
Things didn't always look picture perfect. The men had a disastrous first day as Gary Busey stepped into the project manager role and showed that even when he's in charge, he can't focus. Who knew what he was saying? The guys basically guessed their way through the day. The funny thing is each guy, no matter how unimpressed with their double-talking leader they were, brought something to the table. Where Gary didn't care enough, pop-rock boy bander Mark McGrath worried too much. Where creativity lacked, John composed a little country jingle.
On the women's team, model Niki Taylor may have been a lot better about communicating, but her team wasn't exactly the easiest to handle. It's a no-brainer that Star Jones would take an early lead on the challenge. In her mind, she's always project manager until she sees a possibility to exploit a mistake that can be used later. That's when she suddenly can't make a decision. But, oh, happy day, it looks like we're seeing the first seeds sprouting of what's supposed to turn into the epic Star-NeNe Leakes feud!

Dionne Warwick was up to her old tricks - emphasis on the "old." Stubborn, dismissive, self-righteous and condescending, Dionne was once again more of a hindrance than a help. But, to be more specific, Niki told her how important it was to get to Home Depot to get trees and artificial turf for the outside, yet she ignored that and went to Bed, Bath and Beyond instead. We can't say that would have gotten them the win, but it wouldn't have hurt.
In the end, though, Niki was right. She's to blame for not having more of an overall branding message, which is really why they lost, and not being more assertive with the women about what she wanted accomplished. But while Trump applauded Niki's integrity, we'd have liked to have seen some fight on her part. After all, this is TV.
By the way, anyone else freak out at the sight of Donald Trump's red, sunburned face? Ouch.

I was shocked at how well Gary's team did considering that half his group tended to be sitting around doing nothing. Maybe this represents the camping experience? Niki Taylor should have fought a little more to remain in the competition, but she did show a great deal of integrity.
Let’s get real, “Celebrity Apprentice', decisions are based on who is the bigger Celebrity or who is the most dramatic and can make more drama for bigger ratings.
The Celebrity word in ‘Celebrity Apprentice' no longer applies. It should stand for washed up has beens trying to get some publicity to get their careers going.
Come on, Richard Hatch and Star Jones:
Hatch in jail again, an evil person, in trouble for abusing his child, only thing he ever done was win survivor.
Star Jones: A liar and a phony, fake marriage lied about weight loss. A big liar about everything, and evil.
They (and the others) are on the show to create drama. It is fun to watch and hate these people. But let’s get real “Celebrity Apprentice' has nothing to do with business or competition. The show is all about creating fights and arguments that no real business would put up with.
Don’t the so called celebrities that appear on this show know that by appearing the become side show freaks, not good for their careers. It is fun to watch and hate the freaks.
And don’t the businesses that appear on this show it only hurt their brand in the long run. Who wants anything to do with “Camping World” after this?
Dionne Warwick scares me! Gary Busey annoys me. Richard Hatch and Star Jones and NeNe Whatever-Her-Name-Is are flamboyant fakes. I'm kinda liking John Rich and MeatLoaf. Whoda thunk it?
Trump's face clashed with his God-awful hair and purple tie!
Dionne Warwick is just a mean, old biddy. Everyone has probably worked with an old biotch like her at one time or another. Her day will come.
It was good that Niki admitted that the failure was hers and left with dignity and class. When
Star becomes project manager and if they lose, she will probably drag in as many bodies as she can and it will be their fault not hers.
Gary is right that there is a consiracy against him. If they lost, the men would have gladly piled onto him. Yet they won and they have to put up with him and his scattered genius.
Gary Busey is not some cute eccentric and he is not 'a genius' (trumps words) - he is someone who had traumatic brain injury and that impairs you in many ways that affect behavior, memory and sometimes impulse control. It is sickening to watch him paraded around for laughs - it may not be mean - they may just not know how to react to his behavior but in that case they should not have put him on the show. To have to tiptoe around it and say things like hes an original thinker or hes unique when you know he suffered brain damage is just so wrong.
Can't wait for Dionne to be project manager and foist her diva ways on the likes of Star and NeNe, and then they throw her under the bus when they lose.
Rich Hatch is the one on the guys team that tells it like it is. Not that I like him either. Jose is a do nothing and gets away with it. I think the guys are afraid of him. Even when Ivanka questioned him, the other idiots stuck up for him!!!! HUH??
I just thank God for the mute button on my remote. I love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!
Everytime that hideous sounding Jake Rich person started to sing that horrible Beverly Hillbillies flavored "ditty" I hit the mute button. Gross.
country music really really sucks.
Feel free to respond with your comments...I'm done with this topic and won't see them anyway. LOL.
Anyone else notice this:
When Niki left the Board Room her hair was up. When she left Trump Towers to get into the car it was loose and frizzy. Back in the car for the interview her hair was up again.
Wonder if they pre-tape everyone's 'exit' like that? I'll take a closer look now.
I agree it is fun to watch these people act like they are in a freak show. But sometimes the people who are pure evil like Richard Hatch and Holly Robinson Peete, make the show hard to watch.
The only people that have seemed to benefit for being on the Apprentice are Trump favorite people like Omarosa and others who go on to reality TV. Joan Rivers and her evil spawn got kicked off most TV shows and now have to resort to their own reality show.
Holly Robinson Peete another of Trump’s favorites, I’ve read where her charity was rated very bad because she gave most of the money to herself and friends. This only goes to hurt Children with Autism. When someone like her tries to be the spokesperson for Autism and does things like that. And she has children with Autism - Holly Robinson Peete is pure evil. At least she used “Celebrity Apprentice” to get on the low rated “The Talk”. “The Talk” show wanted a person that the audience could hate and create controversy to help ratings, although that hasn’t helped ratings and people only hate Holly Robinson Peete even more.
As a mother with a child with Autism, I advise people to stay away from Holly Robinson Peete, there are many reputable charities that really help Children with Autism to choose from.
