Stephen King to write for 'The Walking Dead'? Yes, please.

In news that has us absolutely gushing with anticipation, master
storyteller Stephen King is reportedly signing on to writing at least one episode of
AMC's killer zombie-pocalypse hit, "The Walking Dead." King confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he's in talks to write an episode for long-time pal Frank Darabont. Not a massive surprise, considering Darabont penned (and directed) the big-screen adaptation of King's "The Shawshank Redemption" and went on to direct both "The Green Mile" and "The Mist."
This development could take show further afield from the source material -- Robert Kirkman's comic books -- but since season one wasn't utterly faithful to the graphic novels yet still managed to draw a cultish audience, we're trusting Darabont and King to do a bang up job.
Production for season two is ramping up now and, in other behind-the-scenes scuttle, director Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead"/"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") is rumored to have been approached to direct an episode.

Durbont has already said that the The Walking Dead TV Series WILL NOT be faithful to the comic books.
He doesn't want his storyline to be so limited.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why would ANYONE think this is a good idea? Anything he's actually written in script form is atrocious! Haven?? Children of the Corn?? Rose Red?? Kingdom Hospital????? Storm of the Century?? The tv version of The Shining???? Pet Sematary???? Cat's Eye???????? (x 1000) And he hasn't written a good book since The Green Mile. There is absolutely NO PROOF that he would be ANY good at this! So WHY is this a good idea?
The reason Stephen King's screenplays are so poor is because they are made from books he already wrote and is forced to ruin them to get them to right length, but this lets him write something new.

It would be interesting to see Stephen King write an episode to see what he could do with The Walking Dead. I don’t know what your personal preference is, but I enjoy the series on AMC in HD. But just a heads up if you have DirecTV, you can’t watch your zombies on AMC in HD because they don’t carry the AMC channel in HD. What!? No zombies in HD next season? Good news though, you can with DISH Network. That means you get zombies in HD with DISH! As a customer and employee of DISH I can’t say how happy I’ve been since I made the switch. Don’t you want to see your zombies in HD?
