'RuPaul's Drag Race': One big red velvet mis-cake

"RuPaul's Drag Race" took the contest to new catty heights as the queens took off more than their earrings to battle it out on Monday's (Feb. 28) episode.
There wasn't one touchy-feely moment this week for front-runner Raja as she declared that the "Heathers" have arrived to RuVille. Based on the "B's" from the cult movie, the "Heathers" include Raja, Delta, Carmen and Manila.
As Delta puts it, "We're basically the pretty girls, the top four. And then there's the other girls." Okay?
This week's mini challenge had the queens posing nude for their meals. This ended up being a very telling challenge. Of course, the skinny gals couldn't wait to tear off their clothes for the camera - well, not all of them... Alexis announced to the world that she hasn't dated in a very long time and we're about to find out why. Is Alexis a grower, not a shower? The big'uns, Staci and Delta, weren't excited about the challenge at all. But, once they were handed a purple shroud to cover up their unmentionables, you couldn't get them to stop posing. Halle-loo for small victories.
In the end, RuPaul didn't use the challenge as a lesson on conquering one's fears and awarded the win to Carmen, whose preferred state is naked.
In the main challenge, Carmen passed cakes out to the women, which would serve as their runway fashion inspiration. After they had been working for a while, Ru threw in a twist and also had the girls decorate cakes that represent them. Those poor cakes.
The big drama of the episode revolved around Shangela's pathetic lack of ability to sew and her crocodile tears when she told RuPaul that none of the other girls helped her. Point of order, chairman! Isn't this Shangela's second round of "Drag Race"? And Shangela didn't take it upon herself to learn how to sew in the time since she was last eliminated and now? That tells us two things: Shangela doesn't learn from her own mistakes very well and she buys off the rack. Both are first-degree offenses in our book.
Of course, Ru doesn't spend enough time in the workroom to see what the other queens see and that's Alexis helping Shangela out with everything from her sewing to her hair and makeup. Put away your tears, Shangela. We don't feel bad for you.

Runway time! And before we get to the contestants, we have to give props to RuPaul's ensemble. She was feelin' every tier of that wedding cake! "Shedding for the Wedding's" Sara Rue and "Dollhouse's" Eliza Dushku joined the panel.
We think there was a definite line between the women who brought couture to the bakeshop and those who could have used a few more minutes in the oven. Our top three are Delta's angel cake meets 50s sock hop, Raja's crazy for coco-goths look (which ended up winning) and Manila's Jessica Rabbit goes to the disco take on carrot cake.
Our bottom three are Staci's red velvet mis-cake (capris on the runway, gurl?), Alexis' hotel comforter-food ensemble (that waist needed to be cinched - look like cake, not look like you ate the cake) and Yara's lost war of the roses gown.
Then, RuPaul upped the drama when she asked the queens who should go home. The Heathers quickly turned on Shangela, wanting Ru to set her halle-loose. Raja took the cake, though, when she offered up both Shangela and Staci for a one-way bus ticket home.
Ru, of sound mind and huge hands, made her decision and requested that Staci and Alexis lip-sync for their lives. We were then treated to the hottest mess of a drag show we have ever seen - that includes the "Paris is Burning" drag pageant we attended in Queens by the way. Staci should have prayed to the Native American gods for some hop in her step. While on the other end of the spectrum, Alexis jumped around like ants found their way to her picnic basket. In the end, Ru let Staci sashay away, so that she can return to where capris count as couture. And Alexis is left behind to fight off the Heathers and braid Shangela's wig for another week.
Did you think RuPaul sent the right queen home? Do you believe Raja and the Heathers need to be brought down a notch? Sound off below, Zappers!

I love Stacy! She certainly was not the best, but I love everything she represented. I want her to shine forever.
I am a darn near senior citizen mother of 3, and I have watched every season of Drag Race. I definitely think that Raja's "Heathers" need to be brought down several notches. Especially Delta, I want her gone! Staci may not have made the best choice in the leggings, but I was very upset to see her go. And I thought that Yara's dress was a good design. And Shangela has me rooting for her one minute, and wishing she were gone the next.
Raja is very talented but if he wants to be the next drag superstar hes gonna have to work on his attitude, that voice and where hip pads and make better clevage, Ru is just as skinny out of drag but as you see he wears the pads and the corsets and they give him a great shape....get it together Raja or consider becoming the next drag stylist...becauase just like Pandora said in season 2, fashion sense shouldnt stop you from winning because if you do become the next drag superstar you can always hire a stylist..Manilla and Shangela need to work on their makeup skills..blend and match your foundation better... Manila has some personality but she is only the token asian... Shangela has talent but she needs much more experience before she can be a superstar...I like delta she could be the next Divine however she needs to keep some of her oppinions to herself to avoid alienating her potential fans, and after the show she needs to go beat down John Waters door, because he would love her..carmen is cute but this isnt Americas next real girl look alike contest... Stacy is cool but her drag isnt larger then life but she is def Miss congeniality...Yara is pretty but very forgettable...despite her bad dress Alexis seems to be the most C.U.N.T all around at the moment.
Isn't it telling that the "Heathers" named themselves after a gaggle of beeyotches that needed to be killed to be put out of everyone else's misery? Though who's left to like? Staci was annoyingly asleep through most of the competition. Shangela still needs to go; she sucked the first time she was on and she hasn't lost much suck since! Yara is okay I guess. Alexis is super sweet but I can't put all my eggs in her basket cuz I don't think she's going to be around much longer.
OK, this is not the Next Nasty Drag Queen. Yara Sofia is WONDERFUL and so underrated due to her not being evil. She's gorgeous. I rooted for Delta at first, but now just go home. SO happy the stylist called out Manila for her white powdered face. That bothered me from Day 1.
love all the girls but my fav's are Raja and Carmen, Delta could def be the new devine, sofia, alexis, manilla are holding their own..used to feel sorry for Shangela but now i see she ain't worth ****..can't do her make up, her hair, can't sew and so sick of all her ********! halelu!
Too bad Ru, you have lost your touch. This group of dolls is truly boring. I loved JuJuBe, Raven, Pandora Box from last season. Those were what queens are all about. You'll need to step it up in candidate selection if you're going to keep your audience.
this is my last season watching this show. it's clear to me who Ru's favorite is (hallelu) and who will win (hallelu again). I can't stand Shangella, i think she is amateurish and downright annoying. and a hypocrite! she can dish out the realness all she wants, but when someone serves it back she can't take it. It's a shame that she will probably win. She can't sew for her life, so what does Ru do? make it seem like everyone else should be helping her! if the girl can't do it on her own, she's clearly not meant to be there! and now she gets a comedy challenge, where i'm sure she'll shine. humor is the only thing she CAN do.
I like Raja and Manilla the best. they are all around great queens, without Delta's negative attitude. Alexis, Carmen, and Yara are just boring.
I am so disappointed Mariah left. She is so beautiful, but lacks being more creative and aggresive during the challenge. Beauty alone isn't the only key to winning the competition. However, that Shangela need to be sent home. How the hell she remain this long. Her makeup and hairstyle is a hot mess. PLEASE GO. The other girls are to talented and she doesn't belong on the show this Season 3. I truly think she should had waited for Season 5 or 6. Why is Rupaul ******* up her show with this *****. Mariah outshine Shangle 100%. I don't know what the hell Rupaul were thinking. Send that non-talented ***** Shangela home now.
