Bravo remains undecided on giving 'The Real Housewives of DC' a second term

There has been a lot of speculation on the state of Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise. When once it was a force to be reckoned with, viewership shows that just because a cast is blessed with "The Real Housewives" title, it doesn't mean they're going to be a hit.
Now, Radaronline.com reports that "The Real Housewives of DC" has been impeached from the franchise.
"The show just didn't do well and it wasn't worth airing another season," a source "close to the situation" tells the site.
We contacted Bravo for a statement and a representative tells us, "The network has made no decision regarding a Season 2."
According to the report, filming for the second DC season was to begin about now, but Bravo has yet to contact the housewives about their decision to cancel the series.
The first season of the series was marred by the antics of the alleged gatecrashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, and several of the cast members believed the couple hijacked the season. It was a bit of a PR debacle for the network, as well, as it played coy around confirming that the Salahis were on the show to begin with.
So, could the currently underperforming "Real Housewives of Miami" be the nail in the coffin? Or is it just coincidental that it's airing as the network has been making some adjustments to its thinking around the franchise.
SVP of original programming and development and the face of Bravo, Andy Cohen, recently said there won't be anymore new "Housewives" added to the franchise. And the network's recent announcement that the Miami reunion show will take place live has raised some eyebrows among reporters and bloggers. Is the series performing so badly that it needed the boost of such a gimmick?
"They've realized a lot with the failure of DC and Miami," the site's source says. "And they're going to concentrate on the successful shows they have and not expand any further."
Thus far, the franchise includes Orange County, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, DC, Beverly Hills and Miami.
Do you think the DC and Miami housewives deserve another season? Or do you believe Bravo should focus on the hit casts it already has?

I don't know what is going to happen with DC and Miami, but I call "Bull-Hockey" on then not making any more Real Housewives shows. I do feel they need a little break (about six months to a year, maybe two) from making more "Real Housewives" shows, but then, they'll come up with more of them. That's my thought.

It's called saturation.
Remember when Bravo used to be an arts and culture network?
They overexposed the series - plus the DC and Miami housewives werent well cast...and were very very boring. Plus Miami only got about 6-7 episodes- thats not much of a season for drama to erupt w hen the others get more than double or triple that for a season. Miami just begun and its ending...plus lets remember it wasnt even supposed to be a real housewives of miami - it was another show miami social club that got renamed
I think they should give Dc another shot at it and Miami as well I watch all of them and I love it.
I am a big fan of the Real Housewives of OC, NY, NJ and Beverly Hills. I look forward to each of them, read the blogs, etc. As for Miami and DC - not so much... I say focus on the good stuff and let the other two go...
We love all the cities in the RHW series but BRAVO stick with a time frame! We are loyal to all but even as faithful viewers we can't recall what is on when as you change the time slots so often!
I'm sure we aren't the only ones and this has to be affecting the ratings!
I think they should give DC another shot, the show had an alright cast, but they were out shined by the Salahis', get rid of them and the show will be much more enjoyable. As for Miami, they are all so boring and too similar. If they did a recasting the show would do a lot better, but I don't think people would really miss it if it was gone.
Atlanta and New York - especially now with Bethnney gone are the best. The others such as: OC, NJ, DC, Beverly Hills, etc. I can't stand because they are as fake as plastic.
