'Paul Reiser Show' debuts on NBC in April; so long, 'Perfect Couples'

One of NBC's Forgotten Shows of 2010-11 will get some in-season airtime after all: The network says "The Paul Reiser Show" will premiere on Thursday, April 14.It's taking the place of "Perfect Couples," which has had a rough go in the ratings since its January launch (or, really, before its January launch: A preview episode that aired after "The Sing-Off" in December also fizzled).
"The Paul Reiser Show" is a sort of mild-mannered "Curb Your Enthusiasm," with the former "Mad About You" star playing a version of himself as a husband and father. It also stars Amy Landecker ("A Serious Man") as his wife and Ben Shenkman ("Angels in America"), Duane Martin ("All of Us"), Andrew Daly ("Eastbound & Down") and Omid Djalili ("Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End") as his buddies/fathers of his kids' classmates.
Reiser and Jonathan Shapiro ("Life," "Boston Legal") co-wrote all six episodes set to air on NBC.
There's still no word on whether the other Forgotten Shows, "Love Bites" and "Friends With Benefits," will air. They weren't part of the summer schedule NBC announced on Monday.

I LOVE Paul Reiser and have missed him since 'Mad About You' ended. I know he's been in movies, but nothing regular. I really want Kyle Bornheimer to find a worthy show and wish 'Perfect Couples' could've made it. I love Kyle's 'every man'. He's cute and cuddly. Get him a show!

Total B.S. Perfect Couples was gaining steam slowly with audiences...got ZERO publicity. This is another mistake just like getting rid of Freaks and Geeks.
Perfect Couples was awful. If anyone was able to sit and laugh at this show, they obviously do not know what good comedy is. This should not have even been considered for a tv show. The cast was terrible. The writing was terrible. The name of the show was terrible. The only good thing this show was good at was making me switch to a different network. Teen Mom is better than this crap.
Where does this leave Perfect Couples? Are they in time out or are they done for good?

Did you watch all the shows or just the first one. I thought the first episode sucked but it just kept getting funnier and funnier. Not the greatest show ever but I really enjoyed it, especially Olivia Munn and her husband they were really funny. I'll miss it.
Perfect Couples was terribly boring, and I don't think it will be missed as much as these commenters seem to lead the world to believe. Give Paul another try, and see if he can write some good stuff again. If not, clear the way for another good show. Good talent will find another home somewhere on a better show, one whose writing staff hopefully understands pace and energy in comedy.
Paul Reiser instead of Perfect Couples? Ha! You've got to be kidding me. A bunch of clowns over there at NBC. Hopefully ABC picks them up, makes a ton of money, and then gives NBC the finger. Idiots...
