'Parks and Recreation': Rob Lowe's not going anywhere, EP Mike Schur says

rob-lowe2-parks-and-rec-320.jpg"Parks and Recreation" executive producer Mike Schur has a message for all of you wondering if Rob Lowe will move to "Two and a Half Men" next season:

No.

"That's what we in the television business call 'nonsense,'" Schur told Zap2it Wednesday night (March 9) before "Parks and Rec's" session at the Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest. "Rob is a full-time cast member; he's on the show for a number of more years, and that's the end of the story. Sorry I can't be juicier than that."

Schur later told the PaleyFest crowd the same thing, saying that after Lowe's name was floated as a possible replacement for Sheen, "the Internet set it on fire." (Lowe, by the way, wasn't at Wednesday's event because he's visiting colleges with his son this week.)

Further fuel to the Lowe/"Men" fire may come with next week's "Parks and Rec" episode, in which Lowe doesn't appear. But Schur says he'll be back for every episode after that -- including next season (which Schur says he's "extremely optimistic" will happen).

Schur also offered a couple of teases about the second half of this season, including how the show brings Lowe's Chris Traeger back into the fold in episode eight. Hit play on the video below to find out the details.

Thats great news, and Parks and Rec WILL be back next season.

Rob Lowe has a college-age kid (almost) my the decades fly by!

So Rob Lowe is staying with Parks and Recreation and John Stamos twetted that he's not interested. I'm pulling for Jerry O'Connell to take over as Sheen's replacement. His audition on funnyordie.com makes him the front runner IMO. CBS is likely to cancel The Defenders in order for O'Connell to be Charlie Harper #2. CBS will also save money if they choose Jerry O'Connell.

Why would they hire Jerry O'Connell? Don't they want someone who can act?

Don't cancel "The Defenders"! It's my favorite show on TV. Which is funny, because individually, I don't like either actor on the show, but together they're great.

Yayyyyyy!!!!First good piece of news I've heard all week...

Why would anyone want to join a show already entering its ninth? season? Rob Lowe is smart to stick with Parks and Recreation. John Stamos should continue with his recurring role on Glee, then find a show of his own.

two and 1/2 men was never my cup of tea (way too generic and cliche), so this is swell news.

inconsequentially, i don't know whose idea it is to put so much makeup on this guy (makeup artists for his various shows/interviews? himself?), but it needs to stop. there's bringing out the features and then there's going into drag queen territory.

i still like you, rob, regardless of whatever gender you choose to be. :,)

There is no gaurantee Parks and Rec will be renewed for another season, so the *possibility* remains that Rob Lowe could end up on 2.5 men.
