Kristin Kreuk reports to '17th Precinct'; Terry O'Quinn sings 'Hallelujah'

kristin-kreuk-terry-oquinn.jpgFormer "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk is joining another show about beings who are not of this world.

Kreuk has been cast in NBC's pilot "17th Precinct," a drama that blends cop-show and fantasy elements and takes place in a world where magic and mythical creatures are real. She'll play the wife of Jamie Bamber's detective character, TVLine reports.

She'll be billed as a guest star in the pilot, and if the show makes NBC's schedule her role will likely be recurring. It would be Kreuk's second show at NBC, following a guest arc on "Chuck" last season.

Other notable names in the latest round of casting:

"Lost" star Terry O'Quinn has joined the cast of ABC's pilot "Hallelujah," a Marc Cherry-created drama about a battle between good and evil in a small town. The Emmy winner will play a wealthy man who has huge influence over the town. Arielle Kebbel ("Life Unexpected") has also signed on. [Hollywood Reporter]

Jeremy Sisto ("Law & Order," "Six Feet Under") will star in ABC's comedy pilot "Suburgatory," playing the father of a teenage girl (Jane Levy) who moves from Manhattan to the suburbs, much to his daughter's displeasure. [Deadline]

NBC's comedy "Bent" has added "Arrested Development" alum Jeffrey Tambor to its cast. The show is about a woman (Amanda Peet) who finds herself falling for the contractor (David Walton of "Perfect Couples") she hires to remodel her kitchen; Tambor will play Walton's dad, a former actor. [Deadline]

Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors") has been cast as the female lead in "Poe," ABC's private-eye show set in the 1840s. She'll play the foil to Edgar Allan Poe (Chris Egan), who the logline calls "the world's first detective." [Hollywood Reporter]

Kreuk is Gold.I wish we can see more of her

Lana Lang , we miss you

Another great casting note for a show that must be shooting in Vancouver with its two beautiful Candadian actresses. Tricia Helfer and Kristen Kreuk on the same show, doesn't sound too bad. This "17th Precinct" show sounds awesome but NBC has shown that it isn't good at producing this type of program. The only way this show works is if they take their hands off Ron Moore and his talented writers and let them make the show their way. (I guessing Bear McCreary will be along for the ride as well.) Normally, the NBC suits tinkers with the product and you end up with garbage like "The Cape" and this season of "Chuck" (which may suck just because of the fact that Joss Schwartz can't sustain a good idea for a show past 1 season). Now if this show is good, maybe they can get Grace Park back in the fold since she is completely wasted in a "pretty girl" role on "Hawaii 5-O and Moore would actually give her a real role.

What about the pilot O'Quinn was going to do with Michael Emerson where they were retired assassins living is the suburbs? I was really looking forward to that one.
