'Gossip Girl's' Penn Badgley talks Dan and Blair: 'The most fun I'd had on the show in a while'

dair-kiss.jpgDan, Blair and Chuck: "Gossip Girl's" most unlikely love triangle ever?

We've heard Leighton Meester's thoughts. Ed Westwick recently sounded off. Now, it's the third point in the show's not-really-there-yet-but-we-think-it'll-happen love triangle, Penn Badgley's, turn.

Badgley chatted with MTV at Cosmopolitan magazine's 2011 Fun and Fearless Males party, where he shared his thoughts on the Dan and Blair dynamic.

"It was actually the most fun I'd had on the show in a while. It was something new for my character, and I was having fun with the rapport," he says. "I think my dialogue benefited from it. It was actually a lot of fun to work with Leighton. I hadn't much. We were like the only two who had never really interacted."

When asked how the Dan and Blair maybe-relationship may affect his character's former girlfriends, Serena and Vanessa, Badgley would only say, "I don't know how much I can give away. It doesn't end the way you think it does."

While we don't know much (or anything, really) about the outcome of Dan and Blair's first freeze framed (no, we're still not over the fact that they freeze framed us... for seven weeks) kiss, executive producer Josh Safran talked with TV Line about where that storyline could be heading. "I think what you can hope for is that Dan and Blair will continue to be connected and that story will continue to grow," he says. "We hope to continue following it, maybe in unexpected ways."

One thing he would reveal? "We are not jumping ahead seven weeks."

Zappers, what do you think the outcome of the freeze-framed first kiss will be?

I would love the kiss between Dan & Blair to lead to something more... if not now, eventually, but I'm starting to think this whole thing is a set-up for Chuck and Blair, which would be a real shame. Blair has never liked herself when she's with Chuck. It's been great to see her relax and have fun. To see B & D interest each other and get each other interested in things, despite themselves, has been fun.

I agree they are the best thing to ever happen to this show in years, they are getting alot of great buzz because of dan and blair, going back to chair and derena would be predictable and old and show no growth. These are perfect together and equals ,their very different but yet alike.Their the true definition of two world collide ,I hope the writers don't drop them alot of fans will be dissippointed because of lot of them are tuning back in for them.

are you kidding? ratings have dropped dramatically since dair has started, buzz doesnt mean its good for the show of people stop watching. plus, their relationship is soo forced and contrived

I completely agree with GGW's comment. I think the Dan/Blair pairing may be my favorite since the show started. I disagree with the previous comment that it seems forced. It seems completely the opposite, which is what makes it so great. The two characters are surprised by how natural it feels, even though it shouldn't because they know they're not supposed to like each other, not even as friends. I think the comparison in an earlier post to Pacey and Joey was really accurate, and I always liked those characters too.

Blair probably would sooner die than admit to it, but I think she has a lot more in common with Dan than Chuck. I've been watching GG since the pilot and while powerful and her own character, Blair seems to play second fiddle to Chuck and his coniving and scheming ways. With Dan on the other hand, they critique each other's likes and dislikes and Dan's not scheming and treating her like she's a pawn. Them watching movies at Dan's place after Blair's fired from W is really touching.

If Blair goes running back to Chuck I'll be very dissapointed.

_____________

Well the reason whi the ratings dropped it's because the show started to suck and dair is the only thing that keeps sush people like me watching

Penn badgeley quote ''When asked how the Dan and Blair maybe-relationship may affect his character's former girlfriends, Serena and Vanessa, Badgley would only say, "I don't know how much I can give away. It doesn't end the way you think it does."

Well I guess than DAIR's not happening. That is what I understood from his this statement.Heartbroken to know that the writers played with us like this. They are as usual going to serve us the same crap derena, chair, nate(i dunno who dey r going 2 make him sleep with next).Giving up on the show.Nothing more to watch. No DAIR no show for me

I stopped watching after season 2, but I saw some commercials and had heard of some chick named Juliet, so I came back to see what was up. And then I saw something saying that Blair and Dan kissed. I flipped out.

I mean, come on. As much as I love Blake Lively, she's slept with almost all of the guys in the show. Blair keeps on getting with and then fighting with Chuck. I don't even know what the hell goes on with Dan, Vanessa, and Nate anymore.

I think they should totally go through with this. Even though I ship C/B and S/D, I really wouldn't mind seeing them together. They've had something going on since episode 1, and it'd be a great change for the show.

I think I might start watching the show again after the next episode comes back. I hope they don't try to serve that same boring **** they did before though. It's ridiculous.

so sick of GG writers, they're good but they don't know how to run a good story. the storyline of dan and blair made the show ineteresting again but somehow they manage to spoil and tear everything apart... very disappointing
