Christina Applegate returning to TV with NBC comedy pilot
Score one for NBC this pilot season: The network has landed Christina Applegate for her first series project since "Samantha Who?" left the air a couple seasons ago.Applegate will star in a comedy pilot from "Parks and Recreation" producer and former "Saturday Night Live" writer Emily Spivey, Vulture reports. The pilot order was cast-contingent, but getting Applegate on board will almost certainly remove that contingency.
The show, executive produced by Lorne Michaels ("SNL," "30 Rock"), will star Applegate as a tart-tongued working mother with a stay-at-home husband; her parents are also a big part of her life.
Applegate -- who's a new mom herself, having given birth to daughter Sadie on Jan. 27 -- was among the more in-demand actors this pilot season. She earned a pair of Emmy nominations for playing the title character in "Samantha Who?" and won a guest-acting Emmy in 2003 for playing Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) sister on "Friends."

Great news! I'm thrilled to welcome Applegate back to television on a weekly basis. "Samantha Who?" has a brilliant pilot but the rest of it was less and less on par. Hope this show works out well :)
I loved "Samantha Who?" from start to finish. Hope this show is great just like Parks and Rec and SNL
