'Bachelor' Brad Womack, Emily Maynard statement: 'We are madly in love,' 'respect our privacy'

emily-maynard-brad-womack-bachelor.jpgBrad Womack chose Southern belle Emily Maynard on the season finale of "The Bachelor" Monday night (March 14). While host Chris Harrison addressed the press (with some strong words for the tabloids) and runner-up Chantal O'Brien also spoke about her experience, the newly public couple has chosen not to do any press following their television engagement.

Instead, they released a statement:

At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship. Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship. We hope that you can respect our privacy as we return to normalcy and begin our off-screen lives together.

What do you think, "Bachelor" fans?

I agree! Let them be!

Very happy for them. I think they deserve each other.

Seems truthful. If it wasn't, there would be no reason not to capitalize on their fame and become media w****.

I hope the media leaves them be and let's them sort it out. I would hate to have my relationship scrutinized by millions. I think their honesty and the fact that they are taking time to figure things out before they get married is what will save them.

I love it! Who needs the media asking stupid questions and putting seeds of doubt in their minds or stirring up trouble? Let them be. I hope there's a wedding in the future for them.

Yes, let them be! Let them have the chance to make it without us interfering.

I don't get, why go on a reality TV show to "find love" and then completely shun the viewers who probably partly funded all of their exotic dates to various countries and whatever else?? I get that they want their privacy but then don't go on a reality TV show!!!!!

Wait. What? You make a TV show out of your courtship, telecasting everything possible thing about it, and then say "respect our privacy"? Dude, that ship never even sailed. So, um, would the network like us to respect the privacy of the next contestant by having no one watch the show? Personally, that works for me.

The bachelor is still on? Please, please, please... NO more of this garbage! Brad is a tool anyways!

I'm very happy for them both. I completely understand why Emily might have some doubts...it's hard to watch your man with another woman...but Brad looked and acted so different with Emily...he was smitten with her from the begining.....he is truly in love with you Emily....enjoy it!!!
Hope to see them marry soooon!!
