'American Idol': Thia Megia is 'Out Here On My Own' with talent

Lovely young Thia Megia threw down the ballad gauntlet Wednesday night (March 2) on "American Idol." Up until her performance, no one had really blown us away, though Karen Rodriguez did very well.
But little Thia took to the stage and put on a masterclass in singing a ballad. She was controlled, her tone was clear, her pitch was perfect. It was captivating and lovely, we can't wait to see what she does every week. Thia and Pia Toscano were easily the best of the night.
Her song is by the great Irene Cara, who also had hits "Flashdance (What a Feeling)" and the title song from the movie "Fame," (the original, not that terrible remake). Thia's choice of "Out Here On My Own" was also featured in "Fame."
What did you think, "Idol" fans? Did you love Thia too? We always knew she'd get here.

um no she wasnt pitchy at all. She will have to keep fighting hard to be in finale tho
Pitchy??? To start acapella, and then the piano starts playing and she's still spot on and flawless with the song. Meaning, her notes had to be perfect to match with the piano key. Meaning, she was pitch perfect as the judges said. And somebody who says she was otherwise, must be either tone deaf or not a singer.

I have perfect pitch and I can tell you- she was pitchy. she's not perfect in terms of pitch or vibration control, but she's very pretty and a great performer.. that will take her pretty far.
Justin, smarty, they gave her the key of the song, before she started singing... I heard it, after they introduced her. They played the beginning chord of 'Out Here On My Own,' so that's how she new what note to start on. Sela is right, she was pitchy...I've heard other singers sing that song better, too.

Thia is a 'total package'..pretty, nice smile and perfect teeth, good performance, beautiful body, good behavior, prayerful, family-oriented, a model in all aspect, talented, can anyone add more please? She has a long way to go and her family will always be behind her..she inspires the youth...

She's really a good singer. Keep it up little princess. You will make it on American Idol!
