'American Idol' exit song is David Cook on 'Don't You (Forget About Me)'
The "American Idol" Season 10 exit music has been announced and it is Season 7 winner David Cook covering Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)," according to the Hollywood Reporter. The song was recorded in February and fans who preorder Cook's soon-to-be-released second album can access the track for free starting Thursday (March 3) via David Cook's official website.
The song will debut next week during the first round of the finals. You can listen to part of it below (via MJ's Big Blog) and let us know what you think in the comments! We think it sounds pretty great, it's fun as a rock song, and isn't quite so on point as a song with the lyrics, "I'm going home."
"American Idol" airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
