'American Idol': Casey Abrams misses results show with illness
(This post contains spoilers for Thursday's "Idol" results.)"American Idol" was missing a piece when it kicked off Thursday's (March 10) results show.
Host Ryan Seacrest told viewers at the top of the show that finalist Casey Abrams "is unfortunately sick and in the hospital right now." According to "Idol" blog Joe's Place, Casey sometimes experiences stomach bleeding brought on by stress and may have had a recurrence of the issue.
Fortunately for him, though, Casey didn't have to sweat out whether he would be back for next week's show. The bottom three was announced about two-thirds of the way through the show, and he wasn't part of it. Viewers liked his rendition of "With a Little Help From My Friends" enough to keep him safe for a week.
An "Idol" elimination when a contestant is ill isn't unprecedented: Back in Season 1, Christina Christian got the boot while she was hospitalized for dehydration.

He's obviously a very talented young man, but in the footage I've seen he seems pretty clearly under the influence and stomach bleeding is a symptom of alcoholism, will we see him on celebrity rehab next?
Casey is awesome! And I hope he gets well soon. I've watched every bit of footage and where someone gets he's under the influence is beyond me. You shouldn't start unfounded RUMORS about anyone...EVER!!! Go Casey!!!!
If it's a recurring problem brought on by stress, seems like it will be very difficult for him to continue (Afer all-being on AI is very high stress for these kids!) If you do your research instead of posting uninformed gossip, you wouldn't immediately think the worst. As a person with a similar condition, I can relate to not wanting to even be in any public place, much less on a stage being viewed my millions of people. WE LOVE YOU CASEY! Get well soon. You're one of the best this year! (Don't feel like we are pressuring you though....LOL) We just want to keep hearing your awesome voice!
