After much fan discussion on who should play NBC's Wonder Woman, the decision has been made. And we have a feeling that fans will soon organize a parade around this news.

Who better to fill Lynda Carter's red boots than modern-day goddess, "Friday Night Lights" star Adrianne Palicki. Is this the kind of casting that can only be conceived in heaven or what?

According to EW, Palicki will assume the role of Diana Prince in NBC's reboot of the 1970s series. Deadline.com reports that the actress was the only one the network invited to test for the role.

Executive produced by "Boston Legal" writer David E. Kelley, the NBC series will be a "serious and non-campy" take on the DC Comics creation.

Here's the network's description of the series:

The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman - a/k/a Diana Prince - is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life. Kelley and Bill D'Elia (Boston Legal, The Practice) are the executive producers. The pilot was written by Kelley and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's The Event). Wonder Woman is from David E Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Most recently, Palicki starred in FOX's short-lived "Lone Star" and she just completed the feature film, "Red Dawn."

Are you marching in the streets, yet, "FNL" fans? What's keeping you?

This is an awesome choice. Can't wait to watch!!!

Why is there a mention of Marvel Comics in this article?

It was just speedy typo, William. Fixed.

I like Adrianne but I'm worried by the rumors about the script!

Looks like I'm going to have to watch this now, and hope for its success for her sake. Here's hoping it also turns out to be good

Perfect choice!

Sorry I'm too busy trying not to get passed the David E. Kelley Version of Wonder Woman...

"Gosh I'm a single successful superhero in the big city! Its soooo hard. When am I going to marry a man!?"

Booo! Stil think Erica Durance was a much better choice!

Nice choice, still don't think it will survive on NBC though but lets hope.
