TV ratings: No Super Bowl bump for 'Glee' as CBS leads Tuesday
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011The Super Bowl episode of "Glee" didn't result in many more viewers for Tuesday's regular episode of "Glee," which posted numbers pretty much in line with its season average. CBS led the night overall by a wide margin as NBC's lineup dipped from last week and ABC's dramas, while up slightly, didn't pose much of a threat.
CBS drew 16.4 million viewers and a 10.0 rating/16 share in households for the night to finish way ahead of No. 2 FOX (8.6 million, 5.1/8). NBC (7.3 million, 4.6/7) came in third. ABC's 5.4 million viewers and 3.3/5 was a slight improvement over last Tuesday's average, while The CW (1.7 million, 1.1/2) was off some compared to last week.
"Glee" did carry FOX to a win among adults 18-49 for the night. The network averaged a 3.4 rating in the demographic, edging CBS' 3.3. NBC took third with a 2.6, followed by ABC at 1.5. The CW posted a 0.7.

goodbye "V" goodbye "Detroit"
More people need to watch 'Glee'. It is one of the best shows on television. I'm so sick of shows like 'NCIS' rating high.
As a fan of Detroit 187 I have to say that ABC needs to realize it is not going to have a monster hit on Tuesday. With that being said, Detroit 187 may not be a big ratings winner but it is ABC's hightest rated show on Tuesday. I hope that is something they think about when deciding rather to cancel it.
V is a great show, last nights episode was like a summer movie, very steven spilberg quality. Sad how some CBS watchers like Larry the cabel guy , just do not get teh great V.
I wish more people would tune in to Parenthood. In that time slot I prefer The Good Wife, but I never miss a chance to record Parenthood. It's a superior program, covering a variety of topics faced in raising a family today. If you can give it a try you might be pleasantly surprised.
Good by the boring Good Wife!
@donna - 'the good wife' is good tv. i bet it gets a bump for dvr same-day viewing when those ratings are revealed.
good wif viwers are too old to know how to dvr. haha lol purr thins! Sillyvomiter is a louse. Noww off to yoda.
Not really a surprise, is it? I mean, it's not like Glee needs more exposure in order to make people aware that it exists.
I doubt that prior to the Super Bowl, there were millions of kids out there who love high school musicals and yet were completely unaware that Glee was on TV.
I don't see the ratings going up for this show. I think they've tapped the market dry. FOX needs to accept that they have found the audience and are very unlikely to find more.
Wow the NCIS franchise skews very old. Glee with way less viewers beats them in 18-49 demo.
No Ordinary Family has improved since early in the season. Shame more viewers didn't give it another chance.
V has always been good to me. I even own season 1 on DVD. Sci-Fi has been a challenge for networks for years. I still miss Invasion, Life On Mars and Flash Forward!.
