'The X Factor': Simon Cowell wants you to audition
Do you want to be the next Idol "X Factor" winner? Do you want to win $5 million dollars? Do you want to perform live in front of thousands of people?
If you answered yes to all of the above, Simon Cowell has good news for you: He wants you do audition for his new reality competition series "The X Factor," set to premiere in the fall.
In a video posted on the show's official Web site, Cowell says, "We want someone who's going to be a global superstar. That's why you've got to enter this show. You've got the 'X factor.'You think you can take everyone on. Bring it on."
Cowell says he wants to do the show "bigger and better than anything you've ever seen before. It's going to be more extreme, more fun, more exciting. If I couldn't do that I wouldn't do the show."
Auditions will be held in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Seattle, where hopefuls will have to audition in front of live crowds of up to 4,000 people. The show will feature four categories of contestants -- young women, young men, older singer and vocal groups -- who are all competing for the same prize -- a $5 million dollar recording contract.
